Herencia
This gown, “Herencia/Heritage,” is a living tapestry of Kabankalan’s history, culture, and womanhood — woven not only with threads, but with stories, strength, and celebration.
At its heart is the handwoven hablon from Jalandoni Weavers of Barangay Oringao, proudly crafted by Kabankalanon hands. The hablon represents the soul of the city — patient, resilient, and deeply rooted in tradition. Every strand honors generations of women who have woven not just fabric, but identity, livelihood, and heritage.
The gown’s rich sinulog pink and deep rose hues echo the joy, rhythm, and devotion of Sinulog sa Kabankalan, celebrating its 50 years of faith, culture, and community. The shimmering fringe and beadwork move like the dance itself — alive, expressive, and full of praise — symbolizing how Kabankalan continues to grow while staying faithful to its roots.
The silhouette reflects the Kabankalanon woman: graceful yet powerful, soft yet unbreakable. The structured bodice shows her strength and leadership, while the flowing, dancing elements show her warmth, compassion, and ability to nurture both family and community. She is the weaver of homes, of values, of future generations — much like the weavers of Oringao who shape beauty from patience and skill.
This gown is not just worn — it is carried with pride. It honors the past, celebrates the present, and inspires the future. It is a tribute to the women of Kabankalan, to the artistry of its people, and to the golden milestone of 50 years of Sinulog sa Kabankalan — a celebration of faith, femininity, culture, and continuity.
