"I Don’t Want to Be Outdone – So Don’t Even Try!"
We all know that someone, na parang sila lang ang pwede magtagumpay, you know? They walk around with this superiority vibe, na parang sila lang ang may karapatang maging successful sa lahat. And the moment they see someone planning to start a business or chase their dreams? Biglang lalapit sila para pigilan ka.

I remember nung isang beses, may kakilala akong sobrang excited magbukas ng small shop for hand-painted mugs and keychains. She worked on those designs for weeks, ang ganda-ganda talaga, sobrang unique! Pero may isang tao daw na biglang nagsabi, "Are you sure about this?

Success isn’t about being better than everyone else.

Ikaw?
Have you ever had someone try to talk you out of doing something you were really passionate about? How did you keep pushing forward despite their words?

Finding My Voice After the Storm: A Lesson in Resilience
Workplace bullying forced me to resign, leaving me jobless and consumed by anxiety. The initial relief was quickly replaced by a deafening silence and the echoes of their actions. I had tried to speak up, but it only made things worse.

Leaving didn't erase the pain; the financial uncertainty and lingering trauma made it hard to trust or even consider working again. I felt like a failure.

But in that darkness, I learned a powerful lesson: resilience isn't the absence of pain, but the strength to find your way through it.

Healing was slow. Therapy, mindfulness, and the support of loved ones helped me realize their actions didn't define me. I forgave myself and started to rebuild, armed with new boundaries and a commitment to a healthier work environment.

Finding a new job is still scary, but I approach it with newfound strength and self-awareness. The scars remain, but they remind me of my resilience and my unwavering commitment to protecting my well-being. The storm raged, but it revealed the strength within me, and for that, I am grateful.

Yung tipong akala mo "The End" na, pero "To be continued" lang pala.

Yung tipong pagod na pagod ka na, feeling mo ang unfair ng life, and you just want to give up?

Life is not about how hard you fall. It’s about how many times you choose to stand up, kahit ang sakit-sakit pa ng tuhod mo.

You are stronger than you think. And whatever storm you are facing right now, it won’t rain forever.

Keep going. Your story isn't over yet. ✨

The "Interview Phobia" That Wasn't Really About the Interview

I remember back in 2022, I was unemployed for months. I sent out hundreds of resumes, but the moment a recruiter called to schedule an interview, my first instinct was to hide under my bed.

I would practice in front of the mirror for days. I memorized my "Tell me about yourself" script and my "Greatest Weakness" answer by heart. But when the day finally came, and I was sitting in that waiting room, hearing the name of the candidate before me being called, my hands would turn ice cold, my heart would race, and I’d feel like I was running out of air.

One time, I was already sitting across from the HR manager. She looked at me and asked, "Why should we hire you?"

I just stared. My mind went completely blank. Everything I studied just flew out the window. The only thing I could stammer out was, "I... I'm sorry, can you repeat the question?" I felt the heat of embarrassment rising to my cheeks. I just wanted to stand up and run out. In that moment, I felt like a total failure.

But here is the life lesson I learned from all those failed attempts. I wasn't failing because I wasn't smart enough. I was failing because I believed my worth depended on a "Yes" from a stranger.

An interview isn't an audition for your humanity. It’s just a conversation. They are looking for someone to help their company, and you are looking for a place to work. It should be on equal footing.

So, to my fellow job hunters out there who are shaking in fear before an interview. Take a deep breath. It’s okay to be nervous. It’s okay to stutter. What matters is that you walked in. The courage to face them, even when you’re terrified, is the real achievement.

You’ve got this. Keep fighting. ❤️

The "Church" That Left a Bad Taste

I have a friend who recently decided to transfer to another church. It wasn’t because she backslid or because she hated God; actually, she’s more on fire for her faith now than ever. She just felt that her spiritual growth was stunted where she was, and she needed a new environment to flourish.

But do you know what happened? Instead of support, she was met with whispers.

She told me, "Ate, ang sakit. They made it sound like I committed a crime just by choosing a different community."

It broke my heart. Because that’s the thing about toxic church culture, sometimes, the people who are supposed to represent grace are the quickest to judge.

Here’s the lesson I want to share today. Your worth is not tied to the building you sit in, and the approval of a specific group does not validate your faith.

God looks at the heart, not the address of your Sunday service. If you are growing, learning, and becoming a better person, that is between you and your Creator.

To those who love to badmouth people who leave. Stop acting like you own the truth. Stop weaponizing faith to control people. A true community celebrates when a child of God finds a place where they can thrive, even if it’s not "your" place.

And to anyone currently being judged for their choices? Keep walking your path. Don’t let the noise of people who don’t know your heart drown out the voice of the One who does.

Your "Broken" Pieces Are What Make You Whole

Have you ever looked at those beautiful handmade burnay jars from Vigan, noticing how some have tiny cracks or uneven edges and yet somehow those imperfections make them more special than the perfectly smooth ones? That’s exactly how life works. We all go through things that leave us feeling chipped or broken, a failed relationship, a dream that didn’t come true, a mistake we can’t take back, or even just days when everything seems to go wrong. But here’s what nobody tells you: those cracks are where the light gets in. Every struggle you’ve been through, every tear you’ve shed, every wrong turn you’ve taken – they’ve all shaped you into someone stronger, kinder, and more understanding of others who are going through the same thing. Just like how those burnay jars become more valuable because of their unique marks, your life becomes richer and more meaningful because of everything you’ve been through. So stop trying to hide the parts that make you different – embrace them. They’re not flaws; they’re proof that you’ve been fighting, growing, and becoming exactly who you’re meant to be.

You're Not Lost – You're Just Gathering Pieces

You know that feeling when you’re in a crowded place like during fiesta, seeing everyone else seem to have it all figured out while you feel left behind? It’s easy to think you’re just a face in the crowd, but being “lost” doesn’t mean you’re on the wrong path. Like our lolas say, the best things take time to cook – and your journey is unfolding exactly as it should. Those people with “perfect lives” have their own struggles too. You don’t need to keep up with anyone else’s pace; every step you take is teaching you something valuable. So when you feel small in a big crowd, take a breath of fresh air and remember: you’re not lost – you’re just gathering all the pieces you need to build something uniquely yours.
