KALINAYAN - a special variety of rice is the most Common agricultural product of San Jose de Buan, The costume shows a transition from "Black harvest" that represent Kaingin as an old farming method for land cultivation to " Golden harvest" the new and sustainable agriculture. It is a battle cry for an environmental message, Stop Kaingin, Save our Forests; Embrace natural farming for greener and sustainable future"

Mutya han Marabut Cultural Filipiniana Gown is inspired by the municipality's renowned furniture-making industry, one of its proudest livelihoods. Featuring intricate wood-inspired carvings, rich mahogany tones, and elegant details, the design reflects the artistry and craftsmanship of Marabut's skilled furniture makers. More than a stunning ensemble, it celebrates the town's cultural heritage, creativity, and the enduring legacy of its local artisans.

The Gemstone of Jiabong: An marasa ha Samar
"From the Heart of Samar, proudly showcasing the glowing wealth of Jiabong—the hailed Mussel Capital of Eastern Visayas! This masterfully crafted ensemble is a living tribute to the town's thriving One Town, One Product (OTOP) program and its annual Tahong Festival celebrated every May 17th. The attire features a modern bolero kamisa blended with elegant Filipiniana sleeves, dramatically paired with a vibrant, checkered ruffled skirt that mirrors the traditional wear of coastal workers. The entire ensemble is adorned with real, shimmering tahong shells, crowned by a massive headdress inspired by the historic headwraps worn by ancient Waraynon women. Proudly carrying a traditional bilao, she highlights the town's famous local products—such as tahong crackers, lumpia, and baduya—a true testament to the economic resilience, rich culture, and unique identity of Jiabong, Samar!"

“Babaye nga Manaragat: Kusog han Kadagatan”

Representing the City of Captivating Contrast, this rustic-inspired Baro’t Saya pays tribute to the fearless fisherwomen of Catbalogan, whose resilience and determination have shaped the city’s rich maritime heritage. Inspired by the vibrant Manaragat Festival, the costume celebrates fishing, Catbalogan’s richest industry and the lifeblood of its coastal communities. At its heart is a traditional orange fishing boat, inspired by the golden sunset reflected across the waters of Maqueda Bay, symbolizing hope, perseverance, and every fisher’s unwavering journey. Draped with fishing nets brimming with the day’s catch, while cascading layers of blue and white fabric mirror the gentle waves of the sea, the ensemble reflects the abundance that sustains the community and the enduring bond between the people and the ocean. More than a work of art, this costume honors the Babaye nga Manaragat—a woman who braves the open waters before dawn, casts her nets with courage, and returns carrying not only the bounty of the sea but also the strength, dignity, and enduring spirit that define the people of Catbalogan.

Miss Tacloban 2026✨
Diwa ng Kalayaan: Tacloban Best Designer 👑

TACLOBAN: LIBERTAD NG KATAGUMPAYAN

Inspired by Philippine Independence Day and the resilient spirit of Tacloban City, this costume proudly wears the colors of the Philippine flag as a symbol of freedom, patriotism, and hope. The three stars are represented through Tacloban’s identity: Taklub, the origin of the city’s name; the iconic San Juanico Bridge; and the crown, symbolizing the people’s deep devotion to the Santo Niño.

The eight handprints adorned with Pintados-inspired motifs represent the eight sunrays of the Philippine flag and honor the ancestors of Eastern Visayas whose sacrifices helped shape our nation. The distressed train, crafted from repurposed lace curtains, symbolizes the hardships, struggles, and tragedies endured by Tacloban throughout history, while the golden handprints serve as lasting marks of hope, resilience, and remembrance.

At the heart of the design is a blindfolded stone face symbolizing the strength of Tacloban in the face of adversity. The tears flowing from its eyes represent the grief, loss, and suffering experienced by its people through wars, disasters, and challenges. Yet despite the sorrow, the figure remains standing and unbroken—proving that Tacloban never lost its faith, identity, and courage. The blindfold speaks of uncertainty, while the tears honor the pain of the past; together they tell a story of perseverance and triumph.

Completing the design is the Torch of Libertad, a beacon of freedom and hope that illuminates the path forward. It serves as a reminder that from sacrifice comes strength, and from hardship emerges a brighter future for Tacloban and the Filipino people.
