In a motherβs womb were two babies. One asked the other, βDo you believe in life after delivery?β The other replied, βWhy, of course. There has to be something after delivery. Maybe we are here to prepare ourselves for what we will be later.β
βNonsense,β said the first. βThere is no life after delivery. What kind of life would that be?β
The second said, βI donβt know, but there would be more light than here. Maybe we will walk with our legs and eat with our mouths. Maybe we will have other senses that we canβt understand now.β
The first replied, βThis is absurd. Walking is impossible. And eating with our mouths? Ridiculous! The umbilical cord supplies nutrition and everything we need. But the umbilical cord is so short. Life after delivery is logically excluded.β
The second insisted, βWell, I think there is something, and maybe it is different from here. Maybe we wonβt need this physical umbilical cord anymore.β
The first replied, βNonsense. And moreover, if there is life, why has no one come back from there? Delivery is the end of life, and in the afterlife, there is nothing but darkness and silence. It takes us nowhere.β
βWell, I donβt know,β said the second, βbut certainly we will meet our mother, and she will take care of us.β
The first replied, βMother? You actually believe in Mother? Thatβs laughable. If mother exists, then where is she now?β
The second said, βIt is in her that we live. Without her, this world could not exist.β
Said the first, βWell, I donβt see her, so itβs only logical that she doesnβt exist.β
To which the second replied, βSometimes, when you are in silence and you focus and listen, you can perceive her presence, and you can hear her loving voice calling down from above.β
