جڑانوالہ کے نواحی قصبے روڈالا کے مین بازار میں سڑک کنارے بیٹھا منور شکیل پچھلی 3 دہائیوں سے دیہاتیوں کے پھٹے پرانے جوتے مرمت کرنے میں مصروف ہے۔ حالیہ برسوں میں منور کی عارضی دکان پر جوتے مرمت کروانے والے گاہکوں سے زیادہ ان کی تلخ اور شیریں حقیقتوں پر مبنی شاعری سننے والوں کا رش لگا رہتا ہے۔
منور پنجابی شاعری کی 5 کتابوں کے مصنف ہیں۔
1969ء میں پیدا ہونے والے منور شکیل نے 13 سال کی کم عمری میں شاعری کا آغاز کیا اور ان کی پہلی کتاب ’’سوچ سمندر‘‘ 2004ء میں منظرعام پر آئی۔ منور کی دوسری کتاب ’’پردیس دی سنگت‘‘ 2005ء، تیسری کتاب ’’صدیاں دے بھیت‘‘ 2009ء، چوتھی کتاب ’’جھورا دھپ گواچی دا‘‘ 2011ء اور پانچویں ’’اکھاں مٹی ہوگئیاں‘‘ 2013ء میں شائع ہوئی۔ ان کی تمام کتابیں ایوارڈ یافتہ ہیں۔ وہ آشنائے ساندل بار، پاکستان رائٹرز گلڈ اور پنجابی سیوک جیسی ادبی تنظیموں سے اب تک کئی ایوارڈ اپنے نام کرچکے ہیں۔
