We are proud to share the successful participation of 2C2T, at The Fiber Society 2026 Spring Conference, held at Empa in St. Gallen, Switzerland, from May 20-22, 2026.
During the conference, our researchers presented innovative work in advanced materials, biomedical textiles, sustainable fiber technologies, and additive manufacturing through three oral communications and one poster contribution.
🔹 Oral Presentations
• Material-efficient Prototyping for Defence: Printing Modular Armour Plates with PLA, PC, and Support Polymers via FFF — Dr. Maria José Abreu
• Microfluidic-Spun Coaxial Fibers with Bioactivity for Diabetic Foot Ulcer Care — Joana Fernandes
• Wet Spun Coaxial Fibers Loaded with a New CW49 Peptide Analogue for Diabetic Foot Ulcer Wound Dressings — Francisca Silva
🔹 Poster Presentation
• Upcycling Cotton Waste into Reinforced PCL Fibers: A Comparative Study Across Electrospinning, Forcespinning, and Wet Spinning — Francisca Silva
These contributions highlight 2C2T’s commitment to interdisciplinary research and innovation, addressing challenges in healthcare, sustainability, defense applications, and advanced textile engineering.
We thank The Fiber Society and Empa for hosting an inspiring scientific event and for promoting collaboration across the global fiber and materials research community.
