Today I posted the second last kit of Marine sampler. I received many inquiries if I will be restocking madder brown colorway of this kit, but sadly I will not produce the physical version of this kit (atleast on this fabric) again, because of the intense labour to get the color on coarse handwoven cotton and increasing cost of the handwoven cotton itself. But you will always have a digital pattern of this kit, to download and to make on a fabric of your choice. 😊

Yesterday I also restocked the much loved Sainchi Phulkari kit, this time dyed on heavier linen after great feedback during my classes. Above are Phulkari pieces made by me, Majo Van der Woud, Philomena, and Aida.

Worldwide shipping remains open until tomorrow, Monday, August 10, at 9:00 a.m. WEST (UTC+1). After that, new EU EPR regulations come into effect. We will transition to shipping only to Portugal, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Belgium (with updated rates of €13, up from €8) The shipping to all other EU member states will be paused. What does running a small studio look like when EU shipping rules change suddenly? Lately, it’s been a mountain of paperwork, tracking grams of cardboard and tape to navigate new EU (EPR) packaging laws taking effect from August 12, 2026. I have been reading and doing math on compliance protocols as each EU country will be requiring a separate registration and costly legal representatives.
To sustain Wenlin Srudio, starting from August 12, shipping will narrow to Portugal, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Belgium, and the shipping rates for these countries will shift from €8 to €13 to cover part of the mandatory compliance fees.
With a heavy heart, shipping to Spain, Denmark, Hungary, Finland, Italy, Greece, and the remaining 16 EU states will be paused. This means saying good-bye to so many loyal customers, but the logistics makes it nearly impossible to keep sending the parcels.

Current €5 - €8 rates within the EU and all shipping destinations remain open until August 10. While we transition to new rules from August 12.

Orders to the UK, Switzerland, US, Canada, Australia, and beyond are completely unaffected and will continue as normal.

Last year I created Neelam Zero Waste tunic pattern inspired by the Talismanic tunics - I made many small tunics before finally writing down the pattern. The pattern works so well for the airflow in the heat and keep you cool especially if made with the Khadi fabrics 🧵🪡💙

I get this question often if these scissors have nickel. So I researched a bit and here’s what I found out:
The Blade of the scissor is made from 2Cr13 stainless steel, a martensitic grade composed mostly of iron and chromium. It contains up to 0.3% residual nickel. While this is an extremely small amount compared to standard 18/8 or 18/10 stainless steels (which contain 8% to 10% nickel), the scissors are not completely 100% nickel-free.
The Handle is made from zinc alloy, which is completely nickel-free. Since your hands touch the handle during use, you won’t have direct contact with nickel while gripping them normally.
But if you have a severe nickel allergy: Because trace amounts (less than 0.3%) exist in the metal matrix of the blade, touching the bare steel edge or blades directly could still potentially trigger a reaction in highly sensitive individuals.
