Many parents focus only on bedtime itself.

But sleep problems often begin BEFORE bedtime even starts.

Modern evenings are full of:
🌠 bright lights,
🌠 noise,
🌠 screens,
🌠 activity,
🌠 rushing,
and 🌠 overstimulation.

And many babies arrive at bedtime with a completely overloaded nervous system.

That’s why bedtime suddenly feels:
❌ emotional
❌ hyperactive
❌ chaotic
❌ impossible

Your baby may not need a stricter routine.

They may simply need a slower landing before sleep.

Dim lights.
Calmer energy.
Connection.
Predictable rhythm.

These small evening shifts can completely change the night 🌙

When baby sleeps, family heals ❣️

🌛 Evenings are often the hardest part of the day…when tiredness is high, patience is low &
babies need you the most!

Bedtime struggles happen not because babies don’t want to sleep, but because:

🚫 the timing before bedtime is slightly off
🚫 last nap was too long or too late
🚫 there was too little/much stimulation before bedtime
🚫 there was not enough connection with parents

Small changes during the day can completely change how bedtime happens.

What I wish I knew about baby sleep before becoming a parent 👇🏻

Many parents reach me after they’ve already tried almost “everything” to help their baby sleep better. And their baby still wakes up every second hour at night.

And then I think: if new families had more realistic insight about baby sleep BEFORE they became parents, the first months could be much easier.

Understanding how baby sleep rhythm develops and what realistic expectations are at such a young age, can make a real difference from the very beginning.

That’s exactly why I created my Newborn Baby Sleep Guide — to help babies start life with a strong sleep foundation and parents feel more confident from day one.

Many parents drop their babies' naps before they are ready.

And then, they are all exhausted because...

😬 Evenings become harder.
🥱 Nights more fragmented.
😨 Early morning wakes occur.

That’s because naps follow a biological rhythm.

Most babies have 4–5 naps as newborns.

Then they move to:
➡️ 3 naps by 3 months
➡️ 2 naps after the late-afternoon nap disappears (usually 7–8 months)
➡️ 1 nap after the morning nap drops (around 14–15 months — not 12 months!)
➡️ and keep the lunch nap until around 3 years.

The lunch nap is the most important nap for a child, like an anchor nap of early childhood. ⚓
Protecting the midday nap often protects night sleep too.

Tell me your baby’s age in months in the comments and I’ll help you understand what rhythm usually works best right now. 👇

Many parents assume baby night waking means HUNGER! 😳

Sometimes it does, especially during the first year of life.

But very often the cause of night waking begins much earlier...during the day.

🔴 Late naps
🟠 Too much stimulation
🔵 Dinner timing
🟡 Not enough outdoor exercise

or

🟢 Missing sleep rhythm

Sleep is not only about bedtime and a good night sleep usually starts in the morning 🌞

When daytime structure improves, nights often change surprisingly fast.

Remember 👉 Sleep is biological, but falling asleep is a skill babies can learn.

⬇️ Tell me your baby’s age in months in the comments and I’ll send you an age-appropriate routine you can try for better night sleep.

Have you ever thought that Skin Discomfort might be another reason your baby wakes up so often at night?

Babies with atopic or very sensitive skin, prone to eczema, frequently wake more between sleep cycles because itching increases in the evening and during sleep.

This restlessness happens because:
🔹Body temperature rises
🔹Skin loses moisture overnight
🔹Cortisol (anti-inflammatory) drops

It can look exactly like:

❗a sleep regression
❗a routine issue
❗a settling difficulty
❗separation anxiety

But sometimes the missing piece is simply supporting the skin barrier first! 👶🏻

When skin becomes calmer, sleep often becomes easier too. 😴

This might be something to consider 👇🏻

If your baby wakes often at night, rubbing their eyes a lot, and you’re not sure what’s behind it, we can look at the whole sleep picture together.

This could help:

✅ short lukewarm baths
✅ moisturiser before bedtime
✅ cooler sleep environment
✅ breathable cotton sleepwear

Because comfort supports restorative sleep.

Have you heard of FALSE STARTS?

Many parents experience them without knowing what they mean.

It happens when your baby falls asleep at bedtime…but wakes again 30–60 minutes later.

In most cases, the main reason is OVERTIREDNESS at bedtime ❣️

Sometimes False Starts also happen because of:

🟠under-tiredness (if baby slept well during the day and the gap between the last nap and bedtime is too short)

🟠digestive discomfort (tummy aches caused by dinner or mom’s diet in case of breastfeeding or an allergy)

🟠over-stimulation before bedtime (either because of a late bedtime or because of too much blue light or intense activity during the bedtime ritual).

🟠under-stimulation (even babies need to consume their physical energy during the day like tummy time, playing with toys to fall asleep easier at bedtime)

🟠 sleep environment (the sleeping room must be pitch dark, white noise running and no other disruptive sounds around)

And the tricky part?

Finding the right sleep moment — the SWEET SPOT — is often the hardest step for most families.

💡 The best way to reduce False Starts:

➡️ early bedtime
➡️ balanced dinner about 1.5 hours before sleep
➡️ a full milk feed about 30 minutes before bedtime
➡️ a dark sleep environment
➡️ healthy sleep hygiene
➡️ active connection with the parents during the day
➡️ lots of exercise during the day

Remember❗Sleep is biological. But falling asleep is a skill even babies can learn.
