Not because I was spoiled, but because my mother is a toy maker. It sounds like a dream for any child and, honestly, it was. Of course there was the perk of getting soft toys created and tailor-made for me on birthdays, but there were also other pleasures of having a toy workshop in the house that you wouldn't necessarily expect. The constant relaxing buzz of the sewing machine to be heard, test d
riving the latest hobby horse design around the garden, and the running joke among the family of finding faux fur in every piece of sticky tape to ever be used in the house. (That stuff really gets everywhere!)
My mother has had a great time making her various designs over the years and they have been very loved and happily received by children (and adults!) around the world for many years. So, when she decided to stop making her wonderful Shetland ponies in order to focus solely on her hobby horses (www.etsy.com/shop/AdorablePonies), I didn't want to see these sweet ponies disappear forever and we sat down to come up with a solution: this shop. We have spent many hours together studying the patterns and sewing up ponies so that I can take over the making of these beautiful toys from my very own workshop here in Sweden. And now it's my turn to give my baby boy the fun of having a toy maker for a mother!
