Stellar Equipment began long before it became a company. Many of us grew up in the mountains of northern Scandinavia — a place where you learned quickly to respect nature, trust your friends, and rely on gear that actually worked. As we moved through the outdoor world — shops, magazines, trade shows, bigger brands — it became clear that the industry had drifted away from the people it claimed to s

erve. Brands moved to the cities, mountain culture became a curiosity, and skiing turned into luxury lifestyle. Perfectly good gear was redesigned every season because the calendar demanded it, not because the mountain did. So in 2015 we started Stellar Equipment: a reaction to a system that no longer made sense, and a chance to build gear on our own terms. Direct-to-customer changed everything. We could use the best materials, develop products for as long as they needed, keep them in the line for years, and improve them only when it actually made them better. Ten years later, we’re still a small independent team — split between Åre and Stockholm but always led from the mountains. No forced “newness.” Just long-lasting technical equipment designed to work together and earn its place over time. If this way of thinking resonates with you, you’re in the right place.

May Field Report

heard there were waves in Lofoten, packed the car, and strapped a rooftop tent to it. Scored a couple of mellow sessions and somehow got talked into swimming with orcas.

road-tripped north through Norway, crossed the Arctic Circle, and wrapped up the season in Riksgränsen. Watched the comp, got some work done, and finished things off with a hike up Nordals for one last run in powder and sunshine.

also road-tripped to Riksgränsen, picked up at Kiruna Airport, and lined up for the Riksgränsen Banked Slalom. It was everything you could hope for: snowboards, sun, slush, community, beers, and everything in between.

got picked up at Kiruna Airport to join for the Riksgränsen Banked Slalom. Had much the same experience and still managed to squeeze in a 2:00 a.m. tour on the final day.
rasmus squeezed every last bit of winter out of his cabin in Kittelfjäll, Sweden. Skinned 800 vertical meters, pitched the tent, made dinner, and headed out for an evening lap. Woke up and did the exact same thing the next morning before heading back down.

If you haven’t been to Val Ferret, Courmayeur, Italy — now is the time. Meandering paths, the Monte Bianco massif overhead, and a range of rifugi serving cold Birra Moretti and hot meals scattered along the valley (Bonatti is our favourite).

A few days in the far north with our CTO and AD during Riksgränsen Banked Slalom. See you next year?

It all started with a Japanese fabric: ultra light, ultra thin, very breathable and very seductive. We just had to have it.

Putting the rest of the jacket together became an obsession — adding details and removing them again until there was nothing left to remove.

The Aerolight Wind Jacket. Japanese Airtastic™ fabric. Laser-cut vents. Roll-away hood. Snap-tab closure. Packs into its own chest pocket.

Small things. Until you’re using them.

gave a crash course. No actual crashes, thankfully.

Turns out flying a drone is harder than it looks. For now, he’ll stick to cameras and shooting bangers on a daily basis. The drone community can rest easy.

Early summer on Norway’s rugged west coast is pure magic.

Around the Maurangerfjord, you can fill the days with hikes in and around Folgefonna, Norway’s third-largest glacier. Eat fresh mackerel for dinner, caught straight from the porch. Take a cold plunge in meltwater if the sun decides to show up.

A shell layer, a down jacket, and a swimsuit. Around here, all three can be essential on the same day.

Sometimes it means hanging off a boat in a Norwegian fjord, camera in one hand and steering with the other.

Sometimes it means standing on top of a mountain.

Either way, is doing an excellent job.
