Stellar Equipment began long before it became a company. Many of us grew up in the mountains of northern Scandinavia — a place where you learned quickly to respect nature, trust your friends, and rely on gear that actually worked. As we moved through the outdoor world — shops, magazines, trade shows, bigger brands — it became clear that the industry had drifted away from the people it claimed to s

erve. Brands moved to the cities, mountain culture became a curiosity, and skiing turned into luxury lifestyle. Perfectly good gear was redesigned every season because the calendar demanded it, not because the mountain did. So in 2015 we started Stellar Equipment: a reaction to a system that no longer made sense, and a chance to build gear on our own terms. Direct-to-customer changed everything. We could use the best materials, develop products for as long as they needed, keep them in the line for years, and improve them only when it actually made them better. Ten years later, we’re still a small independent team — split between Åre and Stockholm but always led from the mountains. No forced “newness.” Just long-lasting technical equipment designed to work together and earn its place over time. If this way of thinking resonates with you, you’re in the right place.

From Stockholm, Oslo or Copenhagen, Ålesund is little more than a one-hour flight away.

Pick up a rental car, take two ferries, and follow the road into Hjørundfjorden. (Don’t worry, Norwegian roads are supposed to be this narrow.) Surrounded by razor-sharp alpine ridgelines, it’s one of Norway’s most spectacular places to earn a few new blisters.

For the past two winters, we’ve brought our pop-up store to Stockholm. While shooting the campaign, we were reminded that turns aren’t just about snow. They’re about remembering why you fell in love with skiing in the first place. If our time in the city inspired just one of you to book a week in the mountains, then we’ve done our job.
