I’m proud to share another important milestone in my international professional journey

I have received the official Europass Mobility document issued by the European Union, confirming my participation in a prestigious international educational program focused on the future of fashion and textiles at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. 🇪🇸🇪🇺

I was selected for the FEA-VEE Fashion Earth Alliance - Vocational Excellence and Enterprise Fea-Vee program, which brings together leaders in fashion innovation, sustainability, and modern textile technologies.

During the program, I expanded my expertise in:

🌿 circular economy in fashion
♻️ textile recycling
🎨 eco-design
💻 Industry 4.0 in fashion
🤝 international collaboration and entrepreneurship

I also participated in an international hackathon and had the opportunity to meet textile industry experts from across Europe.

This is another important step confirming that Halina Rosa Design Royal Rosa Couture continues to grow toward innovation, artistry, and responsible fashion for the future.

I’m deeply grateful for this opportunity, and I’m already applying this knowledge to upcoming international projects.

“AI for Circular Fashion” project by Wargön Innovation in Sweden, which focuses on using artificial intelligence (AI) to enable intelligent sorting and valuation of textiles. The goal is to increase the reuse of clothing and promote a circular economy in the fashion industry.

The project aims to create a world-class open AI database to enable automatic recognition and evaluation of second-hand garments. Using machine learning, the system will be able to identify types of clothing and their manufacturers, assess wear, damage, or odor affecting value, and analyze market data to optimize pricing and sales.

Currently, only 25% of collected textiles in Europe are sorted, while the rest goes to landfills or incineration. Studies show that 50–75% could be reused. From January 1, 2025, all EU member states must implement separate textile collection systems, covering clothing, home textiles, bags, and textile accessories.

AI-powered robots trained on large databases can recognize thousands of garment types, determine their market value quickly and accurately, and make sorting decisions faster and more precisely than humans. This enables faster, cheaper, and more accurate sorting compared to manual work.

Second-hand garments represent around 90% of the value of all collected textiles. Automation increases accuracy and reduces labor costs, creating a potential multibillion-dollar high-tech second-hand industry in Europe.

Extending garment lifespans from 2 to 6 years can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 70%. The biggest environmental impact comes from regions where clothing is manufactured, which are responsible for 85% of raw material use, 92% of water consumption, 93% of land use, and 76% of greenhouse gas emissions. Reusing clothing globally has a major ecological effect.

Manual textile sorting is repetitive and physically demanding, causing strain and injuries. Automation improves working conditions and shifts employment toward technical and production engineering roles.

In summary, the AI for Circular Fashion project is an innovative initiative combining fashion, technology, and sustainability. By using AI for textile sorting and valuation, it has the potential to revolutionize the European second-hand market, reduce waste, and significantly lower the environmental impact of the textile industry.
