Today, I was invited by Shiseido to enjoy a little pampering of the hands. I was introduced to the trio - Eudermine, Ultimune and Vital Perfect Lifting cream.

The first prepares the skin by gently exfoliating the dead skin cells. The second brightens and strengthens the skin barrier. The third lifts the skin contours.

My hands look visibly nourished 🥰

After the gentle massage, I was given a bottle of lemon water, which went perfectly well with my dinner.

So ladies, let’s take care of ourselves, be it in our dressing or our skin. We deserve it ❤️

Introducing the Bridal Gown line of Grateful Dress ❤️

I fell in love with gowns-designing and gowns-creating in a gown class I took in Dec 2023.

The seeds were sown when I met Guo Pei and her beautiful gowns that won her the accolade of a haute couture couturier awarded by the French association known for recognizing such talents.

The seed was nurtured through cheongsam-making that started in 2019 and later men’s tailoring in 2021 , as these skills build up.

When it was time to take the gown class in 2023, the foundation has been built steadily.

This gown, known as Berielle Gown, is created with elegance and modesty in mind.

The bodice is filled with an overlay of lace and crystals, while the puff sleeves are made of organza and crystals. The layering of texture lends a fun inter-play of fabrics. If desired, the sleeves can be made detachable, creating a modular look that can be assembled at will.

The base is a Duchess satin and it tapers according to the female before flaring out.

This creates an X-shaped silhouette and balances the weight of the sleeves.

Today, I would like to bring us to a place of quietness - deep in our heart is a vacuum shaped for the Almighty. Someone once wrote that our souls are restless until we find our rest in God.

In this world, there are so many things that call out to us - success, prestige, circles etc.

Yet if we are honest with ourselves, these things, in and of themselves, rarely satisfy us.

This is because deep down, our heart can only find its rest and fullest satisfaction in a restored relationship with God, the One who creates us and fashions each one of us so uniquely in His image and likeness.

This midweek, being the first day of the month, I would like to remind us that our hearts, when quiet before Him, ground us and steady us in the midst of circumstances that are around us.

Let us not lose hope in the midst of uncertainty and volatility, but hold on to the belief that He is in perfect control. ❤️

Dear ladies, have you ever wondered what to wear when you opened your wardrobe?

I have.

For today, I would like to leave us one thought - shall we wear thankfulness as a way of living?

Back when I was more diligent in keeping a daily journal, I would be penning my prayers to God. A lot of times, writing was my refuge and my way of unwinding before God. Sometimes thoughts get clearer, sometimes my heart becomes clearer.

And when it’s time for me to review those prayers in my monthly retreat, I am sometimes surprised by what God has chosen to answer.

It can be something imperceptible if we aren’t paying attention.

Akin to noticing our surroundings, be it the art pieces at the MRT or the flowers in nature, spotting the fingerprints of God in our lives can change our vision.

Will you join me in being thankful?

It can be doing something for the first time and you needed that courage.

It can be learning more about a subject matter that intrigues you.

It can even be starting the day with your favourite drink.

May we be found thankful, and always seeing His hands in our lives.

Do you know that layering is one of the best ways to dress in Singapore?

For me, as I do feel cold easily, having a second or third layer is important.

For this casual look, I have a knee-length round-neck dress from Uniqlo under a navy blue denim jacket.

Pls be careful and don’t follow every single trend you see.

For example, the current denim trend is baggy jeans or what Levi’s call ribcage silhouette.

It may work for others; it didn’t for me.

So here, I have a look that fits my shoulders, and the dress has a fit-and-flare silhouette.

While the denim jacket provides some warmth and coverage so that the upper body isn’t fitted to the point of being tight, the lower body moves with ease.

This was paired with black-and-white Adidas shoes that I found in the kids’ section at . The shoes are roomy and comfy, and surprisingly fit my feet. So I’m delighted to have discovered them.

I also have a pair of silver hoop earrings that are medium in size. I used to favor larger ones, but perhaps it’s age, I feel these are a perfect match with this look. Not too overwhelming and classy enough.

For my bag, I have a small Anello bag pack that I purchased at Ueno in Tokyo back in July 2024. It is black with white wordings, so the bag and shoes go together.

Dear ladies and followers, how has your week been so far?

In life, we may not be able to control everything or tell everything that’s coming our way.

However. When we know God, He promises that He is always just a prayer away.

Sin (or wrongdoing) prevents us from hearing Him clearly. And sometimes, our own stubbornness or what is known as insisting on our carnal, fleshly will create a barrier in our relationship with Him. Much like how Adam and Eve’s relationship with God was marred by Eve’s listening to the deceiving serpent, and thereby being disrupted.

God Himself loves us so much that He sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us on the cross. This is so that if we choose to listen to Him and accept Him into our hearts, we can begin to have a new life, and we are being made into new creations. We are also given the power over sin in our lives and are able to overcome wrongdoing, be it in thought, word and deed.

Grateful Dress was founded to encourage people to come to know God. The rose in the logo represents the deep love that God has for people. The ring of thorns represents what Jesus has done on the cross as an expression of God’s love. The green leaves that accompany the rose represent the hope and desire that God holds out to us, in returning back to Him, and having that relationship with Him being restored again.

Are you trying to live life on your own strength, with your own wisdom?

I would like to invite you to consider coming to accept Christ into your heart. He is the One who can satisfy all your needs, and He is the companion who will never let you down.

Prior to Grateful Dress’ accounts being hacked, I have been posting this series.

Today, I want to focus on kindness as a heart-felt quality we can wear.

When in Uni, I once thought to myself, “Wow, she’s so charming” when I saw my JC co-worker. As I shared that thought with God, He reminded me of the verse “Charm is deceitful and beauty is fleeting, but the woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

That settled for me that the external is merely secondary in God’s eyes.

Yes, I will dress appropriately according to the situation, but no, I will not put an excessive focus on what is external.

We often face an opportunity cost in our decision-making. If I were to spend an overly appropriate amount of money on that which is merely external, how do I account to God when that amount can be spent on giving?

May this little story bring us to more conscious purchasing decisions, and encourage us to be a little bit more outward-looking. 🌹

On Sat, I had the privilege to attend a special, closed door event by Pearl FALCO. Beyond learning about the different types of pearls, what tugged at my heart the most, is a write-up on what the founder was doing.

She supports children from Philippines to the Himalayas, and immediately I asked her if I could share what she is doing. Our hearts aligned and she readily shared information.

Are you feeling frenzied or disturbed?

Look to the Almighty who gives wisdom through His Word.

Remember, not every piece of advice is good.

Sift it through the lens of God’s Word.

The book of Proverbs is a good start.

I like to read a proverb a day.

So today is 10 March, you might want to read Prov 10.

These are wise sayings written by King Solomon, who asked God for wisdom.

Remember not to take verses out of context.

Dear ladies and all followers of Grateful Dress, I just came across a new video by UNICEF sharing a life packet that helps with the malnutrition of the children.

Pls prayerfully consider giving to the work.

Even as we have sufficient in our own land, let us remember those who have less, especially those who barely have enough to even survive.

All lives are precious, and all humans deserve an opportunity to live. That is in essence the human dignity espoused and embraced in Social Work Code of Ethics.

If you are my students from secondary school, poly, Uni or church, pls prayerfully consider this with your partners (yes, I follow your updates 😉) or even consider this as a Pay It Forward from your heart. 💚

Let’s remember these dear little ones. You may not know them by name, but our heaven Father does.

Today, my dressing has a touch of Savon Faire - white female polo-T paired with a scallop neckline jumpsuit from Love, Bonito that was thrifted from ReFash @ Westgate.

Still carrying my Birkin-inspired bag from Zara, but utilising its long strap. This is what I love about convertible bags or bags with multiple, adjustable straps. They increase versatility and longevity, proving that fashion can be enjoyed in a sustainable, healthy manner.

Shoes? A pair of red ballet flats from our local brand DMK, paired with French girly socks from H&M.

Am I a fast fashion supporter? Not really. Do I still buy from them? Depends. If it supports versatility and longevity, then yes. 😉

Today is Sabbath, for those of us who are Christians / Catholics.
