Many years back, when the donning of shawl started to become popular amongst sisters, I find it difficult to find a shawl opaque and big enough to my preference. So I made one on ‘my own’.

I handpicked the material and colour I like, got the measurement I feel comfortable with, and send it for sewing. When I wore them, I received a lot of attention from fellow sisters, asking where I got them. So I offered to help them get theirs, with no additional charge. That was when I started to have interest in starting a tudung business, but I was too young to take my first step.

4 years later, I started wearing what people would call “Tudung Madrasah” or “Tudung Labuh” or “Tudung Masuk”. But it was difficult to find one in Singapore, affordable enough, and has matching niqab. I realise that many sisters are hunting for this kind of great deal and I would love to be of some help.

That was when I decided to start taking in pre-orders on behalf of my trusted supplier. Alhamdulillah, coming to 2 years of offering this service which started with only one type of tudung, I now decide to properly open an IG account and FB page, and calls it Inches & Stitches.
