After an almost 2year hiatus in crochet workshops, restarting classes in my humble home was not without trepidation considering many new instructors and classes have since surfaced and I've not crocheted as fanatically and obsessively as I had pre-kids. Am I good enough to teach? Why am I teaching?
The first home workshop was enthusiastically and happily attended by all of one participant - but oh what a joy to share what I know and love with my new friend.
I shared with her my desire to start a Master Crochet class aimed at assisting participants to complete and achieve the masters certification offered by the American crochet guild. I have afterall completed the portfolio of 48 projects twice over with the exception of submission due to personal reasons in that season of life (read:2 kids under 3). Perhaps my portfolio is still flawed in spite of my confidence but even if that is so, I'm not afraid to find out and to learn alongside my fellow learners.
And thus I've recruited my first fellow learner for this master class . Thanks for so readily coming onboard and for gifting me the tsumtsum kit!! An amigurumi class is definitely lined up.
I found my answers in this first home class; I teach because I am a good student, meaning I love to learn and understand fully and develop ways to overcome tricky things. And I teach because helping others enjoy what I love brings me as much joy as the making itself - fellowship in a word. And also, I teach to learn. There's always something new to learn. :) So, now, anyone else interested to get on our master crochet certification class/ship?
Note the master class is not open to beginners unless you have taken my beginner class first to build foundations. It'll span a few 2hr classes to cover the scope of the program. Certain fees will not be paid to me but directly to the guild which operates and awards the certification. Dates are not yet fixed as I'm hoping to start with a minimum of 4 students and am taking down interest first.
Btw... My next 19/11 beginner home class is fully booked at the moment but other interested parties can pm me for new dates.
