Some lessons in small business are quiet ones.
This was a custom piece I made with care — during school holidays, in between motherhood and work — because it was meant to be a gift.

And then...
The customer ghosted.

I’m not angry. Just learning.

Handmade custom work means time, materials, and heart are invested from the moment I begin.
So moving forward, custom orders will require full payment upfront.

This is me protecting my time, my energy, and the business I’m building.

When I saw this 大鱼 print, something about it stayed with me.
There was just a little over one metre left — and I took all of it.

I wanted to show the whole print,
so it’s made big… but not too big.
I matched it with a leather base for a grounded feel, took some time deciding — zipper or magnetic snap —
and chose to keep it simple.
Short handles, shoulder straps, and a retro woven strap with colours that pop.

With Chinese New Year just around the corner,
the timing felt right.
大鱼 symbolises abundance and perseverance.

And that’s how this bag came together. 🤍
