With only our Pop-Up markets we managed to divert from unwanted closets more than 400 beautiful clothes to new, happy and loved moments. Somewhere in Yangon (or in the world 🗺, we like to think big!) your unloved clothes are boosting the confidence of another Shwe Swapper.

We made one year with full satisfaction of our customers and ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ on saving our planet’s resources!

vintage ျဖစ္တဲ့ second-hand ေတြလိုက္ရွာရေအာင္?

Swap Up Yangon ကေတာ့ ျမိဳ႕ထဲက အမိုက္စားလက္ကိုင္အိတ္, လြယ္အိတ္ေတြေရာင္းတဲ့ second hand ဆိုင္ေလးေတြ႔ထားတယ္ေနာ္. လိပ္စာကေတာ့ Gecko စားေသာက္ဆိုင္နား, ၃၇ လမ္းနဲ့ ကမ္းနားလမ္းေထာင့္ မွာေနာ္. အရင္တုန္းကေတာ့ မနက္ကေန ညေနထိပံုမွန္ဖြင့္ တယ္ အခုေတာ့ အခ်ိန္အကန္႔အသက္နဲ့ ဖြင့္ပံုရတယ္ေနာ္.

သူတို႔မွာ ပစၥည္းေတာ္ေတာ္ေလးစံုတယ္: အိတ္ၾကီး, လက္ကိုင္အိတ္ကေန ေဘးလြယ္အိတ္, အကုန္လံုးကေတာ့ second hand ေတြပဲေနာ္.

On the hunt for Vintage and Second-hand?? 🐅🐅

Swap Up Yangon found a pop up of vintage bags and clutches in downtown, just around Gecko Restaurant, corner of Mercahant Road with 37th street. They seemed to operated time-wise oddly but on the past days they have been pretty consistent during the week (late morning till early evening)

Their range also very wide and interesting: from big bags, purses to tote bags., pretty much everything and all second-hand.

Swap Up Yangon ရဲ့ အချစ်တော်တစ်ဦး ဆိုရင် second hand သုံးဖို့ ရှက်ကြောက်နေတာမရှိလို့ အမြဲ အားပေးဖြစ်တယ်လေ. သူကလည်း swappers တွေလိုပဲ ဖက်ရှင်ကို ရူးသွပ်တဲ့ သူဖြစ်ပြီိး ဗီရိုထဲက အ၀တ်အစားတွေကိုလည်းအမြဲ နေရာပြန်ချတာသဘောကျတဲ့သူပေါ့.

အရည်အသွေးမြင့် အ၀တ်အစားတွေက ရေ, အမျှင်, စွမ်းအင်, နဲ့ သတ္တု စတဲ့ သယံဇာတတွေကြောင့် စျေးနှုန်းသက်သာနေတာမဟုတ်ပဲ သူများတွေနဲ့ မတူပဲ ပိုမိုက်နေတာတွေကြောင့်ပဲပေါ့.

ပြီးခဲ့တဲ့ အပတ်ကစမ်းချောင်းမှာရှိတဲ့ Second hand ဆိုငိတစ်ခုကို သွားဖြစ်တယ်. နာမည်ကတော့ White Angel တဲ့ ပြီးတော့သူ့မှာ အိတ်တွေ ဖိနပ်တွေနဲ့ အခြားအိမ် အသုံးအဆောင်တွေလည်းအများကြီးပဲနော်. အ၀တ်အစားတော့မရှိဘူး ဒါပေမဲ့ အိမ်အတွက် လိုအပ်တာလေးတွေ၀ယ်လို့ရတာပေါ့.

ကိုယ်တွေကတော့ အပြာရောင် suitcase လေးကို မျက်စိကျနေတယ် ဒါပေမဲ့ swap up အတွက် အသုံးမ၀င်တော့ မ၀တ်ခဲ့ရဘူးနော်.

If it is Second Hand
it's Ok to get! 🤩🤩

One of our besties, at Swap Up Yangon, feels no guilt to get second hand items and we truly support her. She likes fashion as many of our Swappers and a closet tweak once in while is good for your ego a great for styling.

But as said by having a vintage piece, not only is cheaper as you are not exhausting world resources like water, fibers, minerals to produce energy and petroleum.... Plus vintage tends to be much cooler than just a brand new piece and without finding anyone wearing the same as you! 😉

So last week out team bump into a new Second-hand shop in Sanchaung. It's called White Angel and they have a selection of bags, shoes and some other Household ware. There is no clothes but worth is you looking for something different around accessories to your or your home.

We fall in love for a blue suitcase ... but there was no use for it at Swap Up Yangon, so we didn't get.

လာရောက်တဲ့ ဧည့်သည်တွေကို မိမိဗီရိုထဲမှာ တီရှပ်ဘယ်နှစ်ထည်ရှိလဲလို့မေးခဲ့ပါတယ်. ရလာတဲ့ တီရှပ် အရေအတွက် ကို ၂၇၀၀ နဲ့ မြှောက်ခဲ့ပါတယ်.

We ask Audience How many T-shirt/ Shirt would they think they have in their closets? After collecting all the final numbers and sump up, we then multiply by 2700!

But what's 2700?? 🤨
2700 it is the average Water used to produce a T-shirt ( yes a simple Tee cotton shirt), which is also the same amount water that you need for drinking over 900 days.

So to manufacture Audience Total number of Tops on Monday we use 2921400 liters of water!! 😱 Crazy, right !! Even TaylorSwift couldn't hold herself from an exclamation.

So if you are at home an wondering how many tops do you have? Guess how many, followed by a final counting and tell us if there was any difference.

We found out on past exercises that we always guessed a lower number that we have, just because of the fact that we don't use all we have ....
Our question is now: Do you need more than you actually have?

Swapper Yangon Jessie Goldie swaped up this silky look dark green dress with minimal animal pattern, a couple of months ago on our Swap Up event at Sofaer & Co. On her last trip to London she took her pre-loved dress and send us some beautiful photos!!

we asked: How do you like your new preloved dress?

“ fits and suits my style and size. Fall in love as soon one of my friends suggested to me. Since then I have been using every now and them over the weekend or work (…) easy to style with a more formal jacket and some heels if the occasion hits”

Any advice Jessie Goldie?

“Be open, transparent and outspoken about pre-loved clothes, you can more easily convince people to swap and proof that preloved clothes have lots of style and are cool.
