Part 1- I didn’t expect motherhood to feel like this.

In the early days, I stopped recognising myself.
My body changed,
how I felt in clothes I used to wear changed,
routines changed. (of course)

And then the unspoken pressure to keep going - even when you’re completely drained. Just because.

I hated who I was, and I changed it.

Becoming a mom changed my entire world.
Somewhere in between the changing body, the clock work, mental load.. I slowly stopped recognising myself too. And I know I’m not the only one who has felt this way.

Sleebbee was created from this yearning - wanting comfort, softness, something that felt like care for me again.

Not just sleepwear,
But a small reminder that moms deserve softness too. 🥹🧡

Back then, I couldn’t find sleepwear that..
• felt breathable enough for humid nights,
• roomy and relaxed enough for my changing body,
• gentle enough for my extremely sensitive and itchy skin.

So I started creating what I wished existed, for me. Since then, many moms and women reached out wishing for the same comfort and softness. 🥲☁️

That’s when Sleebbee started, where pajamas and loungewear are not just made for aesthetics, but serving a real purpose for those who need them. 🧡

Making (good quality) pajamas was much harder than I thought.

30+ fabric samples on my dining table, not knowing what to do.
Sizing and length that didn’t fit right.
Buttons that wouldn’t stay closed. 🤣🫢
Colours that faded to high heavens after a few washes.

(I think some of my day one customers were testaments to that, but thank you for sticking by, being on this journey with me, constantly giving me feedback to improve!! 🥹🥹)

I used to think design was just about how something looks…
but it’s really about how it lives with you.

Longer shorts because real comfort matters at home.
Secure buttons because nothing should open unexpectedly.
Fabric dyes that actually last because you wear these every day.

I didn’t want something that’s just soft and pretty,
I wanted something that stays soft and works for real life—
For moms carrying a life for 10 months,
For moms nursing 24/7,
For moms constantly on the move,
And just for everyday, repeated wear and wash.

My belief is that Sleebbee is never just about making pajamas.
It’s about creating pieces that actually support, both physically and mentally.

A lot of sweat and trial goes into getting it right…
and we’re not stopping. 💪🏽💪🏽🧡

Postpartum made me notice everything I was wearing.

Not in a “I need new clothes” way…
but in a “nothing feels right on my body anymore” way.

The softness felt different.
The comfort wasn’t there.
And I stopped reaching for things I used to love. 😢

That’s what pushed me to look deeper into fabrics—especially bamboo.

Because when you’re shopping for loungewear or pajamas, it all looks soft at first glance… but that’s where most people get it wrong.

What you don’t realise is:
🔴 Some fabrics feel soft in-store, but turn rough or starts piling after a few washes
🔴 Some look flowy, but cling or lose drape once you wear them
🔴 Some feel stretchy, but lose that “fresh” feel very quickly

And you only find out after you’ve already bought it.

So I started focusing on one thing—
how something feels after repeated wear, not just the first impression. 💪🏽

I had clothes… but nothing felt right. 🫠

If you’ve ever stood in front of your wardrobe
and felt frustrated for no reason… this is that feeling.

It’s not just about size.
It’s how they fit, how they feel on your skin,
how they make you feel in your own body.

Too tight in some places,
too rough,
or just… not you anymore.

That phase is a part of my journey in creating Sleebbee—
something soft, breathable, easy to live in,
and most importantly, made to last.

Honestly, the hardest part of mornings isn’t even the kids—it’s the “what do I wear that won’t make me melt and gets me through the day?” struggle. 🫠

In this SG heat, a lot of us tend to reach out for our thinnest, oldest t-shirt (you know the one... full of holes and slightly embarrassing). But then the day happens. You have a WFH call, someone drops by, or realise you’ve run out of milk and need to run to the market nearby. And suddenly, you’re changing my outfit for the third time before noon just to look “decent.”

I’ve been there, got tired of the constant wardrobe changes and so frustrated with the heat, which is why this set has become my daily staple - the WHY behind our Sleebbee lounge collection. ☁️

It’s thin and breathable enough to survive a 34°C afternoon without AC, and it actually looks like a real outfit. I’ve worn it for Zoom calls, washed it multiple times, hosted friends in it, and definitely ran errands in it without feeling like a mess.
