Checking my hometown Lainya.

We really need to be honest with ourselves about what we are calling development.

Because what I’m seeing around the rehabilitation of the Biri Stream bridge is raising a serious concern, are we building for the people, or are we just building for the moment and the camera?

A bridge is supposed to serve for years, not survive for a headline. Yet when you look at how some of these works are done, manual filling, sand reshaping, timber support, and no clear use of proper machinery or engineering standards... you start to wonder how long it will actually last once the heavy rains come.

We cannot keep normalizing temporary solutions and celebrating them as achievements. If a structure cannot withstand even a few months of rainy season, then it is not development, it is postponing the real problem.

And the danger is that when it fails, it is ordinary people who suffer, traders, students, patients, and entire communities cut off again.

Development should not be seasonal. It should not disappear with the first flood. It should be planned, engineered, and built to last not just to be announced.

We need to shift from celebrating quick fixes to demanding durable work. Because real progress is not how fast something is fixed, but how long it continues to serve without failing.

Finally, the Lainya county press unit should get a phone with a clear camera.

Thank you for your attention.

Used AI to create this song as a way of recognizing China for the sacrifices they have made for our country.

The friendship is truly impactful, and it’s something we can all clearly see and appreciate.

PUBLIC ATTENTION:

Somewhere in a parallel South Sudan…

A whole Minister of Culture, Youth & Sports CES, A NATIONAL PLATFORM reduced to roadside insults by untrained emotional admin.

You put a simple comment, that can be easily ignored if it was wrong, and the official response is fool? When i saw this, i had to check the page again coz i thought it was a fake page but NO...It was from a GOVERNMENT PLATFORM.

Even on platforms where leaders like Donald Trump are constantly criticized, questioned, and even insulted, his press team doesn’t jump into the comments to trade words like teenagers in a betting shop.

Because they understand one thing,
You don’t defend power with emotions, you protect it with professionalism.

This is not just embarrassing. This is national disgrace served hot.

Let’s stop pretending. This is what happens when jobs are given through connections instead of competence. When press secretary becomes a family title instead of a professional role. When loyalty is valued more than intelligence.

Because no trained communicator, let me repeat... NO trained communicator wakes up and starts insulting citizens from an official platform. That is not confidence, that is ignorance with data bundles.

Whoever is behind that page has completely lost the plot. You are not chatting with your agemates in the market, you are speaking on behalf of a Minister. Every foolish word you type is a direct stain on his name.

Today, you didn’t insult me, you exposed the level of thinking running that office and your illiteracy.

And let’s be very clear, this is how institutions lose respect. Not by opposition. Not by critics. But by their own people acting like they were picked from a Psychiatric hospital.

If this is the standard of communication, then we are finished.

Some people don’t need warnings. They need replacement.

The Ministry must either FIRE him Or keep embarrassing the entire ministry, it’s their choice

I have forgiven him thou, its not his fault, he only lack the skills.

And to those proudly sharing that screenshot, you’ve only exposed your level of thinking, loud, but empty..

Thank you for your attention to this NATIONAL DISGRACE.

Where Is the Office? Asking on Behalf of Lainya Youths

Other youth unions elsewhere are visibly organized and steadily making tangible progress in their communities. They have structure, presence, and direction that even outsiders can easily recognize.

A tree is known by its fruit, yet in the case of Lainya Youths Union, the fruit is difficult to see, and the shade even harder to find.

Here in Juba, many young people from Lainya are present, but without a clear coordinating voice or visible institutional anchor.

There is a worrying sense of movement without direction, youths scattered in the city, engaging in overnight gatherings and informal circles, yet lacking a unifying platform that channels their energy into development. As the saying goes, a boat without a captain drifts with every wind.

What is even more concerning is the absence of a clearly recognized office or accessible structure, at least from what is publicly visible either online or on the ground. This raises serious questions about visibility, organization, and accountability. In truth, if the path is not clear, even the strongest traveler will lose direction.

We often take such associations lightly, forgetting that they are meant to be engines of development, unity, and representation back home.

The challenge, however, is not only structure, it is also mindset. Many of us tend to withdraw support the moment initiatives require contribution, yet expect outcomes without investment. He who expects a harvest without planting will only meet hunger at the gate.

It is also widely believed that once someone is elected or appointed into leadership, they must personally finance all activities.

This mindset weakens collective responsibility and slowly suffocates meaningful initiatives before they even grow. True community work cannot survive on individual sacrifice alone, it must be built on shared ownership. As another proverb reminds us, one finger cannot lift a stone.

Personally, I even wrote an application for the Youth Chairpersonship of Central Equatoria, but I could not locate the Lainya Youths Union office for proper endorsement. That experience alone reflects a deeper issue, not just of structure, but of visibility and coordination. How do we build leadership when even the entry points are unclear?

It is therefore deeply disappointing that efforts to locate or clearly identify the Lainya County Youths Association, both physically and digitally have been unsuccessful. For a county with such reputation and potential, this lack of visibility feels like a missed opportunity.

“Where there is no clear road, even the traveler with good intentions will arrive nowhere.”
