Someday we’ll look back at these little moments, the way he runs straight into the waves without fear, how I’m always chasing after him, pulling sandy hands away from his mouth, laughing while trying to keep up. The tiny fists full of shells (and somehow rocks ending up in your food), the way he dashes off like a wild little horse just to chase the smallest crabs.
My baby Schyler is almost two, and every single day feels like running, wrestling, and holding on tight to a moment that slips by too fast. He’s full of energy, curiosity, and a kind of joy that makes everything else fade away, even when I’m exhausted.
Right now it’s messy, loud, and overwhelming in the most beautiful way.
So I’ll just be here, soaking it all in, memorizing every laugh, every hug, every little breath.
Because one day, I’ll wish I could live this all over again.
And he won’t ever be this little again. 🥺
