Queen & Pawn, the name is chosen by its founders, sisters Basak & Muge Demirel, with a deep sense of nostalgia for the game of chess as it was a favorite childhood pastime shared with their grandfather. It was only natural when they established the company in 2012 in an effort to cater to the needs of a highly intelligent, globetrotting, on-the-run, bold and resolutely feminine clientele, to call
it Queen & Pawn. Queen is the powerful, flexible protector and the Pawn will always chose to become a Queen, not a King, if able to reach the opposite side of the chessboard. Yet, there is always humility beneath it all as the old Italian proverb goes: “When the game is over, the King the Queen and the Pawn go into the same box.” Queen & Pawn woman is a busy, quite literally a “timeless” woman, yet always present. She is romantic and aware, not only quality-conscious, but also socially conscious. Queen & Pawn style encompasses a romantic, effortless glamour and elegance with unwavering attention to detail and with a great consideration for the frenetic pace we live today.
