Hey Y’all Heyyy! It’s your favorite Tax Agent
The upcoming rebate checks, scheduled to be begin distribution November 30, will reach taxpayers in several states including Alabama, Arizona, Maryland, New York, Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Tennessee, and Texas.
The amounts provided will vary from state to state, ranging from $150 to $2,000, depending on individual circumstances and the state's economic context.
Here is the verified information of the amount a taxpayer may receive depending on where they live:
Alabama: $150 (Single)-$300 (MFJ)
-Must have filed taxes for 2021 through 10/2022
Arizona: sent out rebate checks for the state’s Families Tax Rebate program which provides a one-time payment up to $750 for taxpayers with dependents.
Virginia: $200 (Single)-$400(Joint Filers) should have received rebate checks last month (the rebate is from excess tax revenues)
Michigan: An adjustment was made to the state’s Earned Income Tax Credit for 2022 and it resulted in checks being distributed to some taxpayers in the beginning of 2024. This is an expansion of the credit which results in a supplemental check.
The IRS has confirmed that there is no fourth round of economic impact payments that have been authorized. This was a hoax started by someone on social media and started trending.
Payments being received by some states are unrelated to stimulus payments.
Florida, Texas & Tennessee tax, and revenue sites show no plans for stimulus checks.
