Is anyone else feeling that late-July panic starting to creep in? 🧡

The transition from "yes to everything" summer mode to "backpacks and bells" school mode can feel like a total system shock for the kids AND for you.

But it doesn’t have to be a frantic Sunday night scramble in August.

We’re starting the "slow wind-down" now. No pressure, no rigid schedules: just tiny shifts to help everyone find their rhythm again before the first bell rings.

Here are 5 simple evening rituals to start this week:

1️⃣ The 10-Minute Slide: Shift bedtime by just 10 minutes each night. No big jumps, just a gentle nudge toward the school routine.
2️⃣ The Tomorrow Basket: Find a spot for "future me" to leave shoes and bags. Prepping together makes it a habit, not a chore.
3️⃣ Connection Over Screens: Swap the tablet for 5 minutes of "highs and lows" or a quick story. It grounds them (and you) before bed.
4️⃣ The Kitchen Reset: A 5-minute family tidy. Starting the morning with a clean slate changes the whole mood.
5️⃣ The Backyard Reset: Spend 5-10 minutes outside together before bed. Stargazing or just breathing in the night air helps reset internal clocks naturally and calms the nervous system.

Future you will be so grateful for these small head-starts. Just show up and enjoy the slow shift. 🤍

📌 Save this for when the school year jitters start!

The Analog Summer trend is everywhere and we are HERE for it. ☀️

Lately, it feels like everyone is talking about “going analog.” Putting the phones in a drawer, ditching the endless scroll, and getting back to basics.

But let’s be real for a second. We’re parents in 2026. Screens are how we coordinate carpools, check the weather, and honestly, sometimes they’re the only way we get a hot cup of coffee in peace. ☕️

The "Analog Summer" movement isn't about being perfect or living in the 90s but it's about creating a little more space for the things that actually stick in our kids' memories.

"i'm bored."

it’s the two words every parent dreads during summer break.

your first instinct? reach for the tablet. start a list of chores. or scramble to find a 20-minute craft that takes 40 minutes to clean up.

but here’s a secret: boredom is actually where the real stuff happens.

when we step back and stop being the cruise director, kids have to dig deep. that cardboard box becomes a spaceship. the backyard turns into a jungle. they find their own rhythm, their own focus, and eventually: their own spark.

let them sit in the quiet for a minute.

it’s okay to be the "boring" house sometimes. it’s actually the best way to help them grow.

and when they finally need a little nudge to keep the creative momentum going? that’s where we come in.

simple traditions. ready-to-use kits. intentional connection.

no overthinking required. 🧡

save this for the next time you hear "i'm bored" and give yourself permission to just say, "that’s great!"

It’s 95 degrees, the kids have asked for their 14th snack since breakfast, and your kitchen is officially a disaster zone. Welcome to the summer survival edition of “What’s for Lunch?”

We’ve officially hit the point of the season where “gourmet” means the grapes aren’t completely frozen into a solid block of ice.

If you’re currently scrambling to feed the tiny humans without turning on the oven, here are our top-tier, low-effort snack hacks:

1. The "Charcuterie" Plate
It’s just a cheese stick, three goldfish, and a dream. Serve it on the floor outside: the birds will handle the crumbs.

2. Popsicles for Breakfast
It’s hydrating. It’s cold. It buys you ten minutes of silence. It’s a vegetable if it’s green, right?

3. The "Found" Snack
The half-eaten apple from 2 hours ago? Still good. Probably.

Summer isn't about Pinterest-perfect fruit kabobs. It’s about keeping everyone fed and hydrated while you find a moment to breathe.

You’re doing great, mama. The mess is just proof of a summer well-lived. 🧡

How’s everyone’s summer “break” going? 🫠

If you’re currently hiding in the pantry eating the "good" snacks or counting down the minutes until bedtime, this one's for you. Summer is great, but let's be real, it's a lot of hours to fill.

Here are a few of our favorite Parenting Survival Hacks for the low-stakes, "un-aesthetic" days:

1. The Bathtub Popsicle: Sticky hands? Red-stained face? Just put them in the tub with a popsicle. They stay occupied for twenty minutes, and you can just rinse the evidence away.

2. The Mystery of the Missing Batteries: That toy that plays the same loud song on repeat? Oh man, it looks like it "broke." What a shame. (Don’t worry, those batteries are safe in the top kitchen cabinet).

3. The 5 PM Living Room Campout: Throw every pillow and blanket on the floor and call it an "indoor mountain trek." It’s the easiest way to lay down and "rest your eyes" while they climb over you.

We’re all just doing our best to make it to bedtime. You’ve got this. 🧡

We’ve all been there.

You spend hours researching the perfect, open-ended, Montessori-approved, "aesthetic" wooden toy. You wait for it to arrive. You unbox it with so much excitement.

And then… your toddler spends the next three hours playing with the shipping box. 📦

The reality of parenting is that our kids don’t need the $100 price tag to create a special moment. They just need the space to be creative: and apparently, a cardboard box that doubles as a spaceship, a fort, or a very exclusive hidden lair.

We’re leaning into the un-aesthetic today. Because at the end of the day, intentional connection is about the joy you share, not the price tag on the shelf.

It’s low-pressure. It’s simple. And it’s exactly what they’ll remember. 🤍

Tell me: what’s the most "boring" household item your kid is currently obsessed with? (Ours is currently a metal mixing bowl and a wooden spoon). 👇

the best dad moments don't come with a filter.

they're found in the messy morning hair and the 2 PM couch naps.
they’re in the way he carries every single bag from the car in one trip (the ultimate hero move) and how he doesn’t mind being a human jungle gym for the third hour in a row.

we spend so much time trying to capture the perfect, "aesthetic" family photo.
but the real magic?
it’s in the quiet, un-planned moments that nobody sees.

to the dads who show up, who play, who snuggle, and who make the everyday feel extraordinary just by being there: we see you.

happy father's day to all the real-life heroes. 🧡

Today isn’t just about a day off.

It’s about resilience. It’s about joy. It’s about the traditions that keep us connected to our history and to each other.

Juneteenth is a beautiful reminder of the power of storytelling. While the history can feel big and complex to explain to our little ones, the most meaningful lessons often happen in the quiet moments.

Maybe it’s sharing a story on the couch.
Maybe it’s talking about the ancestors who paved the way.
Maybe it’s just looking at them and feeling so much gratitude for the future they get to build.

There’s so much joy in simply being together; no elaborate plans or "perfect" setups needed. Just show up, listen, and lean into that connection. 🧡

the summer 'aesthetic' they show on pinterest: matching swimsuits, perfectly packed coolers, and kids who actually keep their hats on. 👒

the summer reality: this entryway. 👆

sand that will inevitably live in this rug until october, towels that have been damp for three business days, and the mysterious case of the missing second flip-flop.

some days, 'making memories' just looks like a lot of laundry and a very gritty floor. and you know what? we’re leaning into it. the chaos means they’re having the time of their lives, and that’s a win in our book. 🧡

drop the emoji that best describes your summer chaos so far 👇
