Update on Cookie Fundraiser for Helene disaster relief.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!
I will reach out to each of you individually that contributed with a personal thank you, private message or card, but wanted to give you an update now.
We raised a total of $875 that went to four charities.
$250 to Samaritan's Purse
$250 to Mountain Mule Packer Ranch
$225 to World Central Kitchen
$150 to UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief)
These organizations were "boots on the ground" from the beginning and most are still there now! 90-100% of these organizations' donations go directly to the relief effort and not in admin. costs.

Thank you for your support and trust. YOU made a difference! Love you all!

Hey, Y’all! I have finished the last of my cookie orders! Drum roll 🥁…Total of 180 cookies and we have collected $850 in donations. 🥳 🙌🏻👏💗
I have divided the donations among four charities… Samaritan’s Purse, World Central Kitchen, Mountain Mule Packer Ranch and UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief). There is possibly more donations coming in, but I’m done with the cookies for now! 🤪😂
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do this for my family and friends affected by these storms. This money will make a difference for many! God bless you all!

Hurricane relief cookie UPDATE!
Thank you for all the orders and I have been baking and getting them ready. First batch is iced and ready for decorating! I’m working on phases to pace myself.
It takes a few days for all the icing to harden so that I can package them properly! I will let each of you that ordered know when they are ready for delivery or shipping!
Once all donations are received I will also update you on how much we raised and where the donations go!
Love to all,
Tena

Thank you all for the awesome feedback from my post yesterday about the disaster relief initiative. I am reposting the info from my post yesterday for reference and adding the details and how to be a part of this wonderful movement to help with Hurricane Helene disaster relief.

From yesterday's post for reference....
The recent storm devastation has hit very close to my heart as it affects my daughter in Asheville, family and friends in Virginia, Tennessee, south Georgia and Florida. My heart tells me to do something to help, no matter how big or small. I am part of a group here on Facebook called Your Baking Bestie and we have collectively launched an effort to give back to these communities by baking cookies and offering them for a donation, 100% of proceeds going to these local communities via organizations that are "boots on the grounds"...organizations like Samaritans Purse, World Central Kitchen and Mountain Mule Packer Ranch, etc.
As many of you know, I do bake and decorate cookies as a hobby for families and friends, home hobby baker only. I have said I would NEVER sell them. This is an opportunity to offer them to friends and family for disaster relief and will accept your donations in return.

DETAILS -
1. I will take pre-orders starting Tuesday, October 8th through October 15th only, at this time. I am doing this so I don't get overwhelmed with more than I can handle and will strive to have cookies ready for delivery beginning Tuesday, October 22nd.

2. There will be two flavors of cookies to choose from.
- Pumpkin Spice sugar cookie with cream cheese flavored royal icing or - red velvet sugar cookie with cream cheese flavored royal icing. Sorry, I don't do gluten free nor is my kitchen nut free.

3. The design is a United States shaped cookie, 3 - 4 " in size, with a red heart over the "southeast" and the words or similar, "In Our Hearts". It will be fashioned after the cookie design in the picture.

4. Suggested donation - 6 cookies for a donation of $25.
100% donations will go to the relief groups, the only thing I would ask is if I ship to you, $$ to cover those shipping costs.

5. I will accept VENMO (-Eddy), PayPal ([email protected]), cash or a check made payable to Kayjon Designs. I can also take credit card payments and we can do that through a phone call. (If shipping, donation $$ required before they are shipped)

6. I will notify all donors of the amount of funds we have raised and what organizations it is going to. If you are passionate about a particular one mentioned, please tell me that when ordering.

7. How to order - This is VERY important as I want to accurately keep track of all orders and I will need them all in one place, please. (You know how the aging mind works sometimes! 🤪 )
Either email me at [email protected], or reply via Facebook messenger to my Kayjon Designs page with what flavor you would like, quantity, how you will be making your donation and method of how you would like to receive your cookies. Include your address if they need to be shipped. My address is on the cover picture of my page.

Ok, I think I covered everything. I am waiting on an additional cookie cutter and a few supplies so I will mostly like not begin to bake cookies until later this week.

Thank you for your support and let's make a direct difference in the lives of those that have lost so much.
Love, Tena

Friends and family.... I would like your thoughts on something I am exploring.
The recent storm devastation has hit very close to my heart as it affects my daughter in Asheville, family and friends in Virginia, Tennessee, south Georgia and Florida. My heart tells me to do something to help, no matter how big or small. I am part of a group here on Facebook called Your Baking Bestie and we have collective launched an effort to give back to these communities by baking cookies and offering them for a donation, 100% of proceeds going to these local communities via organizations that are "boots on the grounds"...organizations like Samaritans Purse, World Central Kitchen and Mountain Mule Packer Ranch, etc.

As many of you know, I do bake and decorate cookies as a hobby for families and friends, home hobby baker only. I have said I would NEVER sell them. This is an opportunity to offer them to friends and family for disaster relief and will accept your donations in return.

Before I accept this challenge, I am wanting your feedback if this is something you think folks would be interested in? I will take pre-orders so that I don't get overwhelmed with more than I can handle and deliver within 2 weeks of the orders. There will be two flavors of cookies to choose from. And thinking of offering 6 cookies for a donation of $25. The picture attached is the general design of the cookie, although mine may vary slightly. I will post a picture of mine before beginning pre-orders.

100% will go to the relief groups, the only thing I would ask is for shipping costs if I ship to you.

Feedback and thoughts?
