The Underdog Co A lifestyle brand with purpose. Empowering us all to trust our
struggles and celebrate our victories, even the smallest ones. A lifestyle brand with a purpose.

Empowering us all to trust our struggles and celebrate our victories, even the smallest ones. "All of us are not able to start out on top. Some of us didn't get picked for the team the first time. Some of us didn't get an interview the first time around. But that doesn't mean we're not good enough. It means we have to fight for it. It means we show up day after day to work on our crafts. It means

we pour ourselves into the process of getting better. Let the passion and hunger drive you. Let it feed that fire inside of you. Focus on growth like it is your religion. You'll get another shot. You'll have an opportunity to show the world the power of commitment and work. You won't be the last kid on the playground to get picked anymore... And that will only be the beginning." -Jessica Rycheal, Owner | Designer

The Underdog Company — a personal project focused on apparel and headwear that began during undergrad at Georgia Southern University — has become a platform for me to be transparent about my experiences and encourage others. My ultimate goal is to create something honest and real, using apparel for a bigger message. It takes a lot of courage to do what you love, to pour yourself into the process of building a dream. It’s not always pretty. Sometimes you lose; that’s especially common in the beginning stages. It will be frustrating at times, but the fulfillment you get from doing something you’re passionate about makes the journey worthwhile. That is what keeps me going. It provides a sense of purpose. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch something you are building with your hands, tears and faith blossom into something beautiful. My mission with the Underdog Company is to motivate others to build their dreams. Start where you are, with what you have, and build it one day at a time.

This morning I woke up to a Facebook memory from 10 years ago, marking the anniversary of me dropping the OG Trust Your Struggle collection. Back then, I was navigating through some pretty rough challenges, feeling stuck, discouraged and anxious about what was next for me. I created that first Trust Your Struggle hoodie not just as a piece of clothing, but as a lifeline—a tangible, comforting embrace amidst the storm and uncertainty.

It was an affirmation I designed for myself because I knew there was more to my life than what met the eye. I could sense the breakthrough on the horizon, even though I couldn’t see it with my physical eyes.

Before the collection was even out of production, I got the call about a job offer in Seattle—a move that quite literally shifted the trajectory of my life in every way and propelled me into new realms of success and possibility.

Learning to trust the process, that's where the real work and reward lies. It's not just about waiting; it's about HOW you wait. What you do and how you move while you wait. I never expected this Trust Your Struggle hoodie, born out of my own trials, to resonate so profoundly. But it became and still is my most popular item to date.

That hoodie became more than a piece of clothing—it became a symbol of resilience, a declaration of self-trust. It's been my companion, an anchor grounding me in times of uncertainty. I’m grateful for the journey, the highs, the lows, and every breakthrough along the way.

Here's to ten years of healing and trusting and finding strength in the process. 🙏🏾✨ To commemorate this milestone, I’ve reopened The Underdog Co store with the OG colorways and a fresh set of new colorways so you can pick your favorite shade of inspiration.
