A life of courage, sacrifice, and service that should never be forgotten. Through our 500 Miles of Honor Album, we are preserving these stories—one page, one life, one legacy at a time.

This isn’t just a project…It’s a s mission of the heart.❤️

As I prepare to walk the Camino, I carry our Veterans with me—every mile, every prayer, every step.
✨ And even AFTER the walk is over…we will continue to walk on paper—collecting 500 stories across 500 miles in one united mission to honor those who served.

✨ Help us honor someone you love.

One of the beautiful things about our gatherings at Let’s Be Friends Community is that you never know who you’ll meet or what hidden talents will show up! 🎶🎤🐝
At our March meetup, our new friend Thunder surprised us all by stepping up for an open-mic moment. With no Wi-Fi in the building, he performed three incredible songs completely a cappella—and WOW …what a voice! The room was quiet, captivated, and truly delighted.
We’re so grateful Thunder shared his gift with us for the very first time, and we can’t wait to hear more in the future.

Part 2: Turn Your Volume On📶 💛Listen to the Buzz… and …👀LOOK FOR THAT HUG THAT MEANT EVERYTHING…🤗
Let me tell you about our friend Joel Shirley Ledbetter (SHIRLEY) IN THIS VIDEO. 💕🎥
She came for a hug, 2 years ago …and came back with five veterans.
When we first started Let’s Be Friends Community, Shirley called us after seeing our words: “Free Hugs & friendship “
Her veteran husband had just passed away.
She said something simple and honest:
👉 “I really need some hugs “ …and we chatted. Shirley joined our community that first year. Like many people going through grief, life took her in different directions and we hadn’t seen her for about 2 years.
But guess what happened at our March Meetup?✨ Shirley came back! …And she didn’t come alone.
🇺🇸 She brought FIVE veteran friends with her to introduce them to our community.
When we saw each other, we didn’t just say hello… we embraced “BEE HAPPY” BIG.🤗

Because at Let’s Be Friends Community, we believe in being weather friends — not fair-weather friends.People come when they need connection. Sometimes life takes them on a different path for a season.
But when they’re ready to return…
💛 We’re still here.
💛 The hugs are still free.
💛 And the welcome is even bigger.
Shirley even took the open mic and proudly introduced the veterans she brought with her. The room was buzzing happily with conversation, laughter, and new friendships being formed. Moments like this remind us why we do what we do.
Because no one should walk through life alone.
Welcome back, my dear friend, Shirley.
We’re so glad you’re home. 🐝💛

March 14. Good news to tell.
“All this is from God who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. “ 2 Corinthians 5:18-19.

We trust in the Word of John 3:16 that God loved the world so much that he sent his son. Through faith in him, we're given eternal life.
We who were God's enemies are named as friends of Jesus.
We've delivered from slavery to sins and made sons and daughters of God.
In Christ, we're fully reconciled to God and belong to him forever.

You take the power of this reconciliation into every relationship.
When you're attacked with anger and hatred, you can respond with patience and love.
When you encounter loneliness and pain, you can offer friendship and comfort. When you meet guilt and shame, you can share the life-giving message of God's salvation.

The story of reconciliation is written into our lives. Be ready to share it with those who are separated from God today.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for giving us Jesus. Thank you that nothing can ever separate us from your love. Let us carry your message of reconciliation to those who need you today. Amen.

For those who are new to Let’s Be Friends Community or curious about what happens when we gather, this video is just a little peek into Part 1 of the evening.

When you arrive, it’s simple and heartfelt:
✔️ Grab a name tag
✔️ Bee YOU! 🐝
✔️ Introduce yourself
✔️ Mingle and meet new friends
You’ll also notice one of our most treasured friends in the video — Bubba ; our 91-year-old veteran. We love honoring our elders and our veterans, and Bubba never sits alone. Friends naturally stop by to say hello, show respect, and share a moment. That’s the kind of culture of love, respect, and belonging we try to create for everyone who walks through the door.
This was our largest gathering yet with 60+ RSVPs! Thank you all for letting us know you were coming so we could make sure there was plenty of food — and even some carryout to share the blessings.
If you’ve ever wondered what we’re about, this is just a glimpse.
Belonging 🐝❤️
