As humans in a fallen world, some will get caught up in addictions. Drug addiction, alcohol addiction, p**n addiction, gambling addictions, etc. When a person is addicted, they bow down and serve that addiction as their God. The holy scriptures show that to be a form of idolatry and idolatry is sin.
I, the Co-Founder of Trust God Wear, was in bo***ge. I suffered from the addiction to p**nography for years, and I mean years. That was the first thing I would do in the morning, a few times throughout the day, and before I went to bed at night. When I say the devil had a stronghold on me, he had me LOCKED IN. I would try to reason well; at least if I’m doing that, I’m not having s*x with anyone, I won’t catch any STDs, but the scriptures say whoever looks at a woman in lust commits adultery. Dang God, you got me there too! Po*******hy stopped me from talking to God because I would instead be watching p**n and bringing myself to pleasure vs. talking to God. I would instead be watching p**n and bringing myself to pleasure vs. working on my business or Job at the time, which was leaving me in the form of poverty. So listen, guys, I GET IT. I’m not here to condemn but to tell you there is a better way. I tried SEVERAL times to stop this cycle on my own. I would stop for about three days max, then fall back into sin. But Jesus. Several scriptures support you not breaking that stronghold by yourself; you need Jesus. When I called upon the name of Jesus, he was the one who broke those chains. Jesus is more powerful than any addiction you face; call on him to bring you out of that addiction.
So many people are dying a slow death because their addiction has a hold on them, almost as if it were demonic, and the only thing that can free a person from this hold is the power of Jesus Christ. Jesus came to open the eyes of those that are blind and “to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound” (Isaiah 61:1). “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed” (John 8:30).
