How did we get started - Custom Makes with Aubrey Kate - Our Story

I have continued to pray for God to show me how to give back to Aflac, childhood cancer research, and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in honor of Aubrey and all the wonderful things they are doing for childhood cancer. I wanted it to be meaningful and I wanted it to be a direct reflection of Aubrey and our family.

A few weeks ago, I bought a die cutting machine and a heat press just for fun. Crafting is something I love and I wanted to get back to my passion of crafting. I definitely think I passed the love of crafting on to Aubrey. She loves to paint, draw, make things with play doh, make a mess with glue, and cut up pieces of paper with scissors...anything crafty. She LOVES to display her work on the refrigerator and helping me with my projects.

As my husband and I were sitting and talking one day, he said I think you should start a t-shirt business and donate a portion of your proceeds to childhood cancer research. THAT’S IT!! It was the beginning of Custom Makes with Aubrey Kate! 10% of ALL proceeds will be given towards childhood cancer research and helping families going through their journey with childhood cancer.

It’s not about the money for me. It’s about doing what I love with Aubrey and giving a little of our time to childhood cancer research and the family still enduring their journey. Every item will be made with love. We will thank God for each and every item sold, thank Him for giving us this vision and platform, and continue to pray that another child is healed.
