Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day. Whether it's today or another, being kind is often results in improved feelings of wellbeing for both the giver and the recipient. The gift that keeps on giving!

Here are some simple ways you can do an act of kindness:

♥️ Send a "snail mail" letter or email to a friend.

♥️ Give a neighbor a gift card for a locally owned coffee shop.

♥️ Give a genuine compliment to at least five people today. A quick text will go a long way.

♥️ Let someone go in front of you - in a line, or in traffic.

How will you act in kindness today?

Today is National Cancer Day and we stand with others battling and advocating for those who are battling with cancer.

Here are some facts about cancer in the black community:

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among black women. And they are 40% more likely than any other group to die from the disease.

Black men are 50% more likely to develop prostate cancer in their lifetime and twice as likely to die from the disease.

Overall, cancer rates are higher among black people, especially for prostate and breast cancer. Racial disparities in awareness, diagnosis and treatment have a devastating effect on individuals and their families.

There are some things we can do in our communities to beat cancer. We can encourage our loved ones to get tested early and often. We can support through walks, talks or any other way to bring awareness. Let’s beat cancer together.
