I've worn this dress many times, just not with the belt. Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good when you're experimenting with your style! Have fun with getting dressed and styling your clothes differently. I wouldn't have thought twice about this belt choice except for the fact that I have 20 pics of me wearing it.

This dress is pretty close to a one-and-done. It just needs a little accessorizing. Did I mention it's machine washable? This is the kind of item I wear on repeat and end up with a super low cost-per-wear.

"Flattering" is one of the most fraught words in style (IMO) because it's traditionally been used to describe whether an article of clothing makes you look thinner. It's fine to want to look thinner. It's fine to want to look however you want to look. Let's reframe "flattering" to mean clothes that help us look how we want.

When I saw these pants (they're actually part of a set), I ordered them immediately. I loved the color and felt they'd be a cool option in the Austin heat. They're not for everyone and that's ok.

Around here, our focus is on figuring out what's right for YOU style-wise and tuning out the rest of the noise.

Number 1 has definitely cost me clients and I’m totally fine with that.

As an ex-lawyer I have tons of experience with client intake and I know we aren’t a match if you want me to shop for you without getting to know you and your closet. Even if you want to do a huge refresh, I still need to know where you’re coming from.

(2) Generic lists of wardrobe items aren’t helpful because they don’t reflect anything specific to you or your lifestyle. Not everyone needs/wants a white button down shirt and that’s ok.

(3) If you tell me something absolutely isn’t right for you based on your experiences to date getting dressed, I believe you. I will listen to the details and propose alternatives. I won’t try to change your mind (unless you ask me to). My job is to help you look like you want to look, end of story.

Dresses are truly the closest thing we have to an effortless outfit! I chose to add a scarf here, but you can also experiment with adding a belt. And, don't forget switching your shoes can change the whole vibe of the outfit.

There are so many cute things out at this time of year, you have to be discerning about what you add to your wardrobe or you’ll totally overdo it.

Part of that process is being honest with yourself about what you truly wear on repeat and works for you. It took me awhile to realize cutoff jean shorts were just NOT IT for me 🤷🏻‍♀️
