Happy Raksha Bandhan from my little family to yours!
This Raksha Bandhan we celebrate with a different perspective. As as we think about "Raksha" (protection) we think about protecting all our brothers and sisters around the world, no matter their skin color or their race ✊✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿. We think about how protecting one another in our family is a role we take on every day but how equally important it is today to do so in our community( ⚖️+😷+ 🗳️) too. This includes standing up for social justice, wearing masks and getting out to vote. And when we think about "Bandhan" (bond/ties) we think of the bonds beyond blood that ties us ALL together 🌏. Raksha Bandhan celebrates the bond of brothers and sisters but this year we are seeing how this celebration symbolizes so much more.
As we tie these threads of love virtually or together, we hope these are all conversations we continue to have with our own brothers & sisters. Let's commit to these conversations as symbol of protecting one another. Leave a ✊🏽 below!
