42 Pressed Curiously Concocted Letterpress + Design 42 Pressed is a letterpress and design studio founded in 2009 by Jackie Hall Robinson and her husband Tyler.

Specializing in sustainable, unique paper goods that fit the style of the edgy minimalist correspondent. Each pattern, paint stroke and signature style, which has been dubbed - curiously concocted letterpress - is painted, drawn out, and sketched by hand to create our new ready made ooak (one of a kind) stationery collection. Taking the utmost care in creating a top quality product, each piece is

printed in house on one of our three antique letterpresses and neatly packaged and shipped directly from our farm studio located right outside of Charleston, South Carolina. We are thrilled with this new line and how it is evolving into something that truly makes our stationery hearts sing. We wanted to fill a void of an already over saturated stationery market that is much of the same with something that is a bit more edgy and modern; a true breath of fresh air. We hope we have done just that, and you love what you see, we’re just getting started!

The patterns for all our map prints are doodles I’ve made over the years. Each one is hand drawn and then scanned in one by one and placed strategically on each letterpressed print to create the visual harmony they’re all known for.

Two commissioned pieces by for a clients home she recently completed. These are letter-pressed using 6 separately designed plates all printed at different pressures on the press to produce a layering effect with the hand mixed green ink. Lots of registration which means moving the plate all around the bed of the press by hand to find what feels and looks best (slide 4 shows all of that and the two pieces that we landed on at the end)
