If you’ve dropped by our studio over the past decade, you’ve more than likely met our beloved shop dad Josh Chalmers and his trusty sidekick, Frankie. We’ve shared a space with Josh since early 2017 and consider he and his wife Abi part of our family. We quickly gave him the moniker “Shop Dad” because he went above and beyond to take care of and beautify the space in ways we didn’t even know we needed. We’ve spent many a late night working through relentless deadlines and encouraging/crying/rejoicing with each other every step of the way. He keeps everything functional, thoughtful, and we will say WE ARE NOT WORTHY!

Josh was diagnosed with prostate cancer at the end of 2025 and has spent most of this year preparing for and undergoing surgery/recovery. Thankfully his doctors say he is now cancer free (yayyy!), but the road to recovery is long. Let’s get Josh back to doing what he does best (screenprinting, hiking, camping, and dancing!!!).

Want to help? You can donate monetarily or purchase an item from one of the artists or makers on the site below:

We are also hosting a big ole party at our studio on July 10/11 where you can see items from the website in person. There will be beer from Live Oak Brewing Company hop water from St. Elmo Brewing Co live-screenprinting from Kong Screen Printing and a very special FT Lonesome Shop Dad Flash page! Maybe there will be some Josh wine too…

Special thanks to crew from Kong Screen Printing and Kevin from CHERUBS for making this happen!

Hello friends! It’s that time of year again! Summer is here; the weather’s getting warmer. Living in Austin for all these years has made me realize how lucky we are to have an abundance of natural swimming holes, rivers and lakes within our reach. Not only are they a refuge from the heat; they nourish our souls. Tomorrow, we celebrate our connection and protection of these sacred waters. Join us as we ring in 25 years of and their annual beer launch, aptly named Take Me to the River. TLW work hard behind the streams to keep our rivers, aquifers, lakes, etc. clean and flowing. We’ll be set up from 5-9 to offer a special assortment of limited patches, flash and goods from and see you there!

Thank you so much to the folks at for offering us the opportunity to design the 2026 Pearl Society concert series posters.

For those of you in Austin, you’re probably aware of HAAM’s incredible work to keep our thriving musical community healthy- my family specifically has benefited for many years from the work of . (Shout out )

I’ll be adding a new Ghost of the West each quarter of the year- an opportunity to robe the spirits of Central Texas in their native totems.

I’m no graphic designer- I’ve toyed with using digital design pretty much only as a baseline with which to noodle on and iterate designs whose final manifestation is dimensional, tactile and earthy.

My iPad is a sketchbook for stage one of a multi stage process that primarily takes place in a literal material world.

I appreciate the opportunity to get to play more in digital design, and this poster series is that, indeed.

However,I do believe that my heart belongs to the analog. I’ll always find my way back to the hilariously, gloriously slow and inefficient.

I’ve been quite quiet on all these social channels for the last couple years-

I, like so many of us, have found the schizophrenic cacophony of righteous stance-takes to be driving us collectively away from the messiness and beauty of actual relationship-building.

I’m trying, like so many of us, to feel into what’s next. You’ve heard it all before so I won’t go on. We’re inexorably dependent on these platforms that we’re learning more every day are driving division.

I’m unsure about almost everything, but one thing I do feel certain of is that there is necessary medicine in art, art making, gathering and celebrating.

The other thing I feel certain of is that there is a timely medicine in developing a reciprocal relationship with land and place. That feeding the spirits of the places you hold sacred is as important as protecting them.

This piece is part of the Native Species show that opens tonight at . It is a cloth alter designed to make a space for feeding, crafted for the guardians of the Chisos.

Although I’m out of town tending to family matters, I hope you go. See art. See people. Laugh. Be messy.

at her finest, folks! No need for distracting embroidery 🤓, just pure craftsmanship and devotion to the process.

Yes, we can make an embroidery-free suit that still makes a statement.

Monday we’ll open the queue for a small handful of 2026 custom projects- a deposit for a custom suit makes a lovely holiday gift btw- a portal into deep time via contemplative collaboration- an antidote to the acceleration induced psychosis we’re all attempting to mitigate.

Thanks to for trusting us with this project. And thanks to our friends at for hosting the big shindig where it made its debut.

We’re preparing to open up suit orders again after a long hiatus of catching up and slowing down.
We’re only going to take on 6 new suit clients- in the past we’ve struggled with our queue getting leggy and difficult to manage- and thereby have decided to just intake an intimate number of projects at a time.

This ought to allow us to devote due diligence to each project- and to honor the spirit we’re inviting to occupy the space previously drowned in the miasma of scarcity and over-production.

We know everything feels insane, and that a custom suit right now might feel like a frivolity best reserved for more celebratory times.

We offer in response an opportunity to dive deep into the process of co-creating something human-tended, something that gesticulates slowly, something that tells a story.
