It’s with mixed emotions that we are announcing that we’ll be closing our boutique at the end of 2023! We are so proud of what we built & set out to do with this boutique, but the demands of mothering multiple littles have left us with little time to devote to the upkeep of our business.

Did you know that less than 10% of blind children are taught braille??

The reasons why can vary from parent preference to teacher preference to child preference, but there can be many more reasons too! Materials and resources used to teach and accommodate braille reading are expensive and sometimes unavailable in some areas. Plus, in an era where technology reduces the need for physical books, some view braille as an unnecessary option.

It may be an old school mindset, but who can deny the value of a physical book, regardless of how far technology comes?! We think that this article from Perkins School for the Blind sums up nicely why braille still matters!
