The Pin has been busy this season and we want to thank you all for your support.
I am writing to give a PSA about the quality of clothing and your alteration expectations.
SHEIN, Forever 21, Cider, and other branded discount retailers use subpar fabrics and stitching to allow their prices to be cost efficient for customers. With this being said, when you bring clothing to a seamstress for alterations, please note that you will most likely pay more for the service than you did for the actual garment.
The art of tailoring and dressmaking takes precision and time. We do not use mass machining. We do not have the patterns or measurements for these items. We have to deconstruct to recreate.
Sometimes things do not go as planned due to retailer manufacturing issues and incorrect measurements. This is not your seamstresses fault.
Consider having a dress made to fit you! If you have important events it is important that you have quality seaming and fabrics to stand out.
Know that the dress is made by hand and will last a lifetime. Not an event.
