I’ve had this particular spoon set aside for a while. It’s the only one of these that I have and I was afraid to do anything with it because I didn’t want to make a mistake with cutting, or drilling it and not be able to use it. I did a market a few weeks ago and a gentleman stopped to admire my work. He asked if I had worked with a variety of different metals and I said no, because I wasn’t sure I was confident enough to work with those specific things. He leaned in and said “You know, when we stay in our comfort zone, we don’t grow. If you mess up, you mess up. Don’t be afraid of your equipment. Using it is how you get better and build confidence.” Well, you can bet that the next day I went right to my garage, grabbed this spoon and started working on it. Wouldn’t you know, it came out exactly how I hoped it would. So, thank you, kind stranger for encouraging me to just go for it. 🩵🩶

Knotted Ladder Earrings 🥰 I was so excited when I found this design! I’ve been rewatching Carnival Row and when I found these, a song from the show immediately popped into my head. I knew they had been waiting for me to bring them home and up-cycle them into something more than just discarded flatware. 🩵🩶
