Welcome to the Cintron story: This a brief summary of an everyday family saved by the grace and mercy of God! We have 7 years serving the Lord in CT, Where I have reconciled my relationship with God and my wife accepted him as her Lord and savior. Our story originally started in Tampa Florida, where we met in 2007. We didn’t realize it would be the start of a huge purpose the Lord had with our Fa
mily. A few months after meeting we found out we were expecting our 1st child together. IT’S A GIRL!! Excited as ever was not too long after the attacks on the pregnancy began. After being hospitalized week after week, the doctors finally realized that something was wrong with the baby. I was told I should abort my pregnancy at around 4 months because she showed signs of having cardiac issues or downs syndrome. Refusing to abort I had 2 amniocentesis procedures to confirm she was cardiac .We received many diagnosis heart related as a mutual decision we decided not to abort but to continue with pregnancy and love her just like any healthy child. Yasmine was born on May 05, 2008, I was told she had a high chance of being still born or would need surgery same day. Yasmine needed neither she came out pink and breathing amazing. Her dx at that time was CHD, Mitral valve stenosis and a hole in her heart. We spent 2 weeks in ICU then discharged home. In the weeks to come is where it got complicated as Yasmine developed respiratory problems. We would take her to the ER and hours later be sent home being told she had asthma related symptoms. After many weeks of going and Yasmine not getting any better, we finally got admitted where we learned her symptoms were not asthma related. Yasmine had RSV and Pneumonia of the left lung. This in turn canceled her upcoming surgery scheduled in Oct of 2008 , Along with retirement of her Cardiologists. We knew we needed to act fast as to what steps to take to get her the treatment she needed. After talking to family members about the Healthcare in the Northeast , we decided to pack our kids and few items we could fit and move to CT. Doctors did not approve of us taking Yasmine on such a long trip with her current state of health, but we knew if we did not make a change it could bring harm to our daughter. After 4 days of driving we arrived on 11/08/2008 , we took her to the local hospital . Nurses and staff were running in circles with trying to figure out exactly what Yasmine had going on. We learned that they did not specialize in pediatric cardiology and was given a name of a hospital to transfer Yasmine too . 1st thoughts was to Bay flight Yasmine over to Valhalla , NY but the crew members joined her in an ambulance. It was like walking into another world ..Maria Fareri Children's Hospital and staff are amazing and it is where we truly found out what Yasmine had . In addition to the CHD , Mitral valve stenosis and hole in her heart she also had pulmonary stenosis , Heterotaxy syndrome and a DORV in simple words her heart and other organs in her chest and abdomen were in the wrong place . From December of 2008 to 2013 Yasmine under went several Heart catheterizations and three major open heart surgeries, one of which lasted 10 hours. She has had the complete Fontan surgeries and Kawashima repair. Her Cardiologist is Marcus Erb and her surgeon is Dr. Sett along with the ICU unit that treated us like family . Yasmine sooned gained her nick name Cinco de Mayo that even the janitors and security loved and knew her smile. Dr.Sett told us if the hospital in Florida would of attempted to perform the surgery they wanted to do , she would have had a high chance of not surviving. Around 2015 we were told Yasmine would need a pace maker because her heart rate was dropping very low while she slept . This is were our journey with the Lord and our faith began. After news of this possible surgery we took her to church to a healing service where they prayed over her and her health. After this point we saw more of how God was moving his hand in our daughters life . The next visit for Yasmine was to meet with Dr.Sett and decide on a surgery date and this is how God works. Dr. Erb decided that he wanted to place another 48 hour monitor on Yasmine and then decide on the date. After a few weeks we finally get the call .. Dr. Erb called and asked me "Mrs.Cintron what are you doing to Yasmine " A little in shock with the question , he told me Yasmine does not need a pacemaker and actually her heart rate increased by 30 beats per minute . In extreme excitement and emotion I could not wait to give testimony of what the Lord has done and is doing. In 2019 we were told the same about a pacemaker maybe being needed and with knowing what the Lord has promised , We kept our faith and no surgery is needed this time either . I hope this encourages anyone to always seek the Lord in everything , in our case he is the Doctor of excellence and as long as Yasmine is in his hands , she is healthy and will fulfill the purpose he has for her life. Our reason and why for this store , is to be able to expand God's Kingdom on the Earth. Our mission is to also spread our testimony and be able to help children with severe health condition's by being a light in the mist of the storm . What we receive by grace we should also give by grace. God is faithful !
