A little update...and not a good one.

This one hurts.
Bound for Main street is closed, and might be for good.

As you all know The Painted Tree has filed for bankruptcy and has closed all locations, in the country, permanently...and immediately. We were notified today (via an email from a no-reply address) that the stores are closed and to remove our stuff as soon as possible. The email said we would have a week to get the items, but also that it is up to the discretion of the landlord if they decide to chain the place closed and not allow us to remove our items.

We got the email today at 11am while I was driving to our location (after receiving a phone call from another vendor warning me what was happening) and by the time I had gotten there the staff had only knew about it for about 30 minutes. Corporate told them nothing except "lock the doors", "don't sell anything", "get ready for owners to get their stuff", oh and "fire all the employees". Corporate then shut off the wifi, security cameras, register access, music, and even the AC.

We scrabbled for awhile, as dozens of other vendors did as well, to get as much of our stuff as we could in case we are unable to get back into the building the rest of the week. We were able to get all of our product (which is stuffed in our cars), but do not have space or a place to put the furniture items. We are still making a plan for that and hope we have a few days to figure it out.

This is really hard for me because I have been out of work for nearly 6 months, and have been having an issue finding another job because the job market right now is insane...and this location was a way to have some income to help get us through while I am looking for work. When we opened the location it was a passion project to have as a side business, but it quickly became my only income. We have now lost that lifeline - with no clue if we will be getting our deposit back or even getting the funds from sales we made this month so far.

I am happy to know that most of the other booths at our location has other ways to sell their items: markets, other brick and mortars, websites, etc. However: we are not that lucky. We cannot afford vendor market fees, we have no other good options for a physical location due to the type of items we sell, and our website isn't working and I haven't been able to figure out how to do it (I'm not tech smart, nor do I know anyone that can help...and we can't pay a web developer).

So, as of now, Bound For Main Street is closed.

If you would be interested in information about buying our fixtures, or potentially purchasing some of our products, please message and let me know. I will be looking in to sites like Ebay and WhatNot, but we will see how well that works. I would love to get a website working, but I do not know if that will be an option for us, in this moment.

All Painted Tree locations have closed immediately and we as owners knew until an hour ago and we are kinda freaking out...l didn't have the mental capacity to edit this so I'm sorry if it sounds a bit choppy and repetitive - we as owners don't know what's going on but please keep us in your thoughts... and if you can message us to buy things, we could use the help.
