— clay jewelry reimagined

You'd think sculpting the tiny tomatoes would be the hardest part of making these earrings... but it's actually the easiest part.

The real challenge? Mixing the perfect shade of red.

One of my biggest struggles as a polymer clay artist has been translating the colors I see in my head into real life. Color theory works a little differently with clay, and finding that rich, vibrant tomato red without making it too dark, too orange, or too flat can take multiple attempts.

A tiny amount of the wrong color can completely throw off the balance, and once it's mixed in, there's often no going back. It's a process of trial, patience, and a lot of tiny adjustments.

But when I finally get it right, that's when the piece really comes to life.

Every pair is handmade from scratch, mixed by hand, sculpted by hand, and created with so much attention to detail.

Follow along for more behind-the-scenes looks at the creative process and to see what fresh designs are growing in the studio next!
