𝙍 𝙀 𝘽 𝙄 𝙍 𝙏 𝙃 ended up being the theme of 2022 for me. I got a new job in the construction industry, recouped financial losses of a business adventure that wasn’t meant to be, successfully completed a 40 day cleanse, traveled abroad > got engaged abroad, bought a new house, found out I was pregnant, and found out you can love someone intensely that you don’t even know (aka Palmer Elise Kennedy 👶🏼)⁣

It’s hard to comprehend the amount of change that will come with 2023 but I know the excitement of it all is something I’ve never felt before. ⁣
⁣
Making a home and knowing all the memories that will be made in this house I’m working to diligently curate is something I will cherish forever. Painting, wooden accent walls, new furniture, old furniture repurposed, a 𝙉𝙐𝙍𝙎𝙀𝙍𝙔. It feels like a dream ✨⁣

it always starts with a prototype ~ and let’s be real, the prototypes & first attempts are sometimes hard to love. ⁣
⁣
this is my first attempt at making a light fixture shade. it’s a Father’s Day present (that’s obviously way late) 🙃 at first I was yay, then I was nay, and now I’m content with how it turned out, and excited to try again.⁣
⁣
when I was in the nay phase I luckily was listening to a podcast (thanks for the rec) and almost as if it was meant to be 😉 he said something like this⁣

what a liberating concept. I moved on to being content. ⁣

then today when I was revisiting what I didn’t like about this handmade cutie I was listening to the and almost as if it was meant to be 😉 I was introduced to the concept of LB & NT⁣

i dig LB, but I really dig NT. instead of focusing on what you didn’t like about your performance (aka negative) you can get creative and think about how you might change your performance in the future (aka showing the universe your willingness to try again and focusing on being optimistic and grateful for another opportunity)⁣

i’m now thinking of all the ways I can enhance my second attempt at a light fixture. 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘦𝘥

I tip my hat and say fair well 👋🏼 It has been a lovely 2 years as the owner of Fixxation Boutique, as you know it.

It was always my dream to be the buyer of my own boutique and while the opportunity is something I will always be grateful for, it wasn’t exactly everything I’d hoped it’d be.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Although I’ve put a pause on all purchasing and the brick & mortar location is currently closed for renovations - all of our merchandise will be online and we will be having a blow out sale SOON.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When renovations are complete, Fixxation will be an energizing space for business professionals and creatives to CoWork and CoCreate. And the best part is it’s actually affordable 🤩

6 individual desks + 2 artist spaces (only 1 available) + 1 large group table + lounge area
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
$250/month for individual desks & artist spaces
$100/month for a space at large group table
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I will also be setting up shop as a CoCreator in my own private studio. This Fixxation feed will now be filled with creations that are handmade by me aka things you literally cannot get anywhere else. I’ll show you my process - how things start from a sketch on paper and morph into a physically tangible product you love.

Change is inevitable, and although it’s somewhat bittersweet to say goodbye to the sustainable clothing chapter, surrounding myself with other creatives and designing my own private label sounds pretty dang cool. Keep following for the evolution of Fixxation 💗

it can be scary to surrender your former smallness and step forward into the unknown. our identities are often so aligned with who we think we are with our existing business/jobs or previous accomplishments, that transformation seems futile.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
but let me tell you it’s all R&D for the beauty that is coming.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
that’s not to say you have to start over to transform - but rather take everything you’ve developed, built, succeeded with, learned from, struggled through, and overcome to emerge into greatness.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
if you have been with me from the beginning you’ve seen the evolution of Fixxation, knowing all along that creativity, authenticity, and community were my driving forces. and that is about to be MF amplified my friends.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
a transformation is taking place and although I’m not ready to fully share what’s coming (catching me after a full week of meditating/relaxing/exploring in Costa Rica), it feels so in align with everything i’ve been craving the past year but was too scared to admit.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
what you can expect:

• my personal ceramics & jewelry studio (private label clothing eventually 🤩)
• shared work space for artist to rent
• expanded yoga/Zumba/Pilates studio
• cosmetic & therapeutic booths for rent (in the old yoga studio)
• juice bar & coffee shop on loading dock

this will no doubt be a gradual transformation, but the excitement i feel is unreal.

deep inside you already know the potential, the life force, and the creative abilities you contain. Explore the beauty you (and only you) posses. Cultivate your abilities. And do not for one second think you need to convince people that you will reach your dreams. It’s not their journey to worry about.
