At 07:15 we gathered for a morning brief, then Micah, Ed, Bailey and I headed for a local EOC meeting at the Burnsville senior center. This meeting was comprised of all leaders for federal, military, state, and local task forces and emergency services. We made several good contacts there and gathered a better understanding of the situation from their perspective. We decided that our goal was to get where we could pass the distribution center off to local hands, and then move our TOC for field operations closer to more needy areas.
Upon returning to the base. We began to flesh out the leadership tasks delegated the night before. There was a morning rush with the distribution center, and lack of effective communication which was causing a lot of stress, however I managed to delegate intelligence collection and asset management to a couple of capable volunteers who worked with me to establish a proposed JOC with Micah’s organization Greyscale (I believe is what it is called). They asked how we could work better together and I suggested that we combine our intel and comms POC’s (points of contact) in one location where we could more efficiently direct the flow of information.
This freed up other leadership and allowed for a smoother flow of information and missions, however there is still a long ways to go for organizing and utilizing data.
Many conversations and sync ups were had with myself and Micah’s SF team, trying to coordinate our efforts on the intel side and on our future movements.
Sarah from United Cajun Navy arrived on scene today and is onboard with the expressed desire to push north with our operation. She was critical in helping to assess weak-points in distribution organization and is assisting the locals in handling the distribution center.
Earlier in the day we sent out a Recon mission to scout out activity in the north towards green mountain, I never was debriefed on the results of that, however I do know that bodies were located, and marked for authorities.
Supply and logistics were majorly struggling. Not because of lack of effort but lack of manpower and help. Luke Thigpin and Jon Paske have been weathering many storms overcoming logistical problems for us. However, it’s important to get him more personnel and communications.
At the end of the day my precious mother came to rescue myself and Elijah, and now we are inbound for my home in north Georgia where we will take our Shabbat rest, refit, reorganize, and get back out to the front on Sunday Lord willing
