I wanted to be a fashion designer when I was in high school. It just took me a few decades to get started. 😂❤️
When I was in high school, I always dreamed about being a fashion designer.
Obviously, life had other plans.
I ended up working in an office for more than 40 years, and somewhere along the way that teenage dream got put on the shelf.
Then I retired a little over a year ago.
I thought I was finally going to slow down and enjoy some free time.
Instead, I started cutting up thrifted graphic tees. ✂️😂
I started experimenting with sewing, adding flannel, bandanas, different fabrics and whatever other ideas popped into my head.
And eventually, Not Sew Plain White Tees was born.
The funny thing is, I don’t think I ever really stopped loving that creative side of me. I just didn’t have a place for it.
Now I do.
I’m not designing runway collections or sitting in some fancy studio. 😂 But when I’m at my sewing machine, figuring out how to turn a regular T-shirt into something completely different, I feel like I’m finally getting to do a little bit of what that high school girl always dreamed about.
And honestly?
It feels like I was meant to find my way back here.
I’m still learning. I’m still experimenting. And I still have plenty of those “I wonder if I can make this work…” moments.
But I’m having so much fun with it.
Maybe it’s never too late to find your way back to something you once dreamed about. ❤️
