The holidays, especially New Year's can feel a bit like navigating a minefield for sober people. If you need a sobriety mantra, you are welcome to share mine โฌ๏ธ๐

If you or someone you know is in recovery, here are some tips for a sober New Year's Eve:
๐๐ผPlan Ahead: Make a plan for the evening that includes sober activities and avoids triggering situations. For me, it's hanging with my wife and having delicious food and non alcoholic drinks to look forward to!
๐๐ผSober Events: Seek out sober events or gatherings specifically designed for people in recovery. If that's not an option, staying home and watching New Year's Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen from New York City's Times Square is always a good time!
๐๐ผBuild a Support System: Surround yourself with supportive friends and family who respect your sobriety. In sobriety you learn to read the room, choose to spend your time with people who want only the best for you.
๐๐ผHave an Exit Strategy: If you find yourself in an uncomfortable situation, have a plan to leave safely.
๐๐ผFocus on Self-Care: Prioritize self-care activities that promote relaxation and well-being.
