During these unprecedented times we debated, should we still run our St. Patty's Day Sale? We came to the conclusion that business must go on, and while our lives are anything but normal right now it is community, and the ability to move forward in love and kindness that will get us through to the other side of this.
Knowing that many of us have a new normal. Working from home, some of us with kids, unable to go to the gym or convene in our favorite eateries or local watering holes.
Some things we are doing in order to remain sane:
When working from home try to maintain some type of a routine.
Get up, get dressed per usual and set a place in the house that is dedicated to work time. At the end of the day close your station up just as you would do at the office and move into your evening with your family.
2. Get outside - Go for a walk, hike, bike ride, or do a work out video. Moving your body and getting out in the fresh air (maintaining your social distance of course) raises your endorphins and releases stress.
3. Take immunity boosters like Vitamin C, Zinc, and Elderberry -Keep your alcohol intake to a minimum. We've been making elderberry spritzers (elderberry syrup and La Croix), delicious, refreshing, and immunity boosting!
4. Meditate - Something new we have started doing. It feels really hard to carve out the time, but even ten minutes of mindfully breathing to relax the central nervous system can be so therapeutic. There are lots of resources for this now, but the Calm App or Headspace are a great place to start.
5. Enjoy the times you have with the ones you love - Try and push the worry aside for a few precious moments. Enjoy a board game, a funny show, or baking a special treat together.
