I thought it might be time for an introduction, my name is Lexi & I am the owner of Nurture Nest!
I am based in Centerville, Iowa & willing to travel within a 2 hour radius!
A few fun facts about me:

🤰I became a certified Doula in 2021
Shortly after having my firstborn, the world shut down and I was left seeking a purpose after a less than desirable birth experience. I came across a quote, "everyone wants to hold the baby but who holds the mom?" and I immediately knew I wanted to be involved in the birthing space, holding moms and families during their journey to parenthood.
Utilizing tools such as, informational support, emotional support, self advocacy, partner reinforcement, and physical support, I am here to help!
So, what exactly is a Doula?

by definition: "A doula is a non-medical companion who provides physical, emotional, and informational support to a mother before, during, and after childbirth. They are not trained to deliver babies or give medical advice, but rather to offer comfort and guidance throughout the birthing process. "
What I offer:
Birth Planning
Comfort techniques for pregnancy and labor
Education for family members regarding, safe sleep, car seat safety, basic baby care.
Feeding and lactation support
Attend births- providing an extra layer of support in any setting (hospital, birthing center, or home) providing all facets of support wanted, including helping a partner be present during the process if wanted!
Postpartum care- whether it's caring for the home, pets, mom, or baby, think of me like your personal assistant to make your life a little easier! Offering overnight baby care, hourly rates, or included in a package!
Here at Nurture Nest, I believe that ANYONE who wants a Doula should have one.
I am happy to work with any family, in any circumstance, or financial situation.
