I’ve known & worked with for over 16 years. I’ve watched her babies grow. I’ve watched her grow. I’ve created cakes for her family & celebrated life’s moments. She’s recommended me to 100s of clients & we would whisper that someday it would be Lola.

This time, it’s Charlie. Charlie chose the perfect match to his Elvis loving Charleston LowCountry character. She has his same sense of humor and the feisty spirit he loves about his momma. They are matched in all the ways. I know that Liz is grateful for this woman and what she offers her son.

Lauren’s gown is embroidered with beautiful roses which inspired this design. It’s an elegant choice with varying degrees of dimensions & piping.

I’m grateful they chose me. I’m thankful for the opportunity to have glimpses into some of the happiest moments of their lives as I wish many many more.

I do love a beautifully piped wedding cakes. This one was inspired by the brides gown. I added a bit of shimmer to the background. That small change of color dramatically impacts the design of the cake.

This one was inspired by the bridal gown. It has a very special place in my heart. Although I loved the design & thought it fit perfectly with the venue and decor, this one is special because of and her wonderful family. These were really good and caring people and I’m grateful to have met them.

Like most Charleston residents, I was very excited to see the snow. It’s such a beautiful & rare occurrence. We aren’t quite used to this cold and by the 2nd day I was hoping it would melt in time for the weekends planned weddings.

I try to embrace all of life and resist wishing it to move quicker. Still, I’m eagerly anticipating the arrival of spring. It’s one of my favorite seasons when everything renews. It reminds me of this cake.

When I saw the proposed backdrop, I knew the cake needed to be subtle and beautifully simple. Even the placement of the flowers had to be refined. I think the cake & flowers are a perfect match.

The first step in designing a cake is thinking about the overall decor. I’m often inspired by an invitation or the bridal gown. Sometimes the inspiration comes from the venue. One of the key elements in designing a personalized cake is choosing the best stand. It’s so important to me that I’ve invested in some quality stands.

For years, the duty of returning stands has fallen to the planners. The day after an event is filled with so much work and I want to make this easier.

I’m a bit of an old lady and in my pjs by 8:30. I’m not quite able to come get the stand late at night. However for this new year & new brand, I’m going to making things easier. I’ll come get it in most cases. If the distance is really far, I’ll try to meet you at your next wedding or somewhere easier.

This year is all about and working together to create memorable experiences.

To me, it’s never “just cake.”

There is just something very special about taking seemingly simple ingredients and transforming them into something spectacular and delicious.

I truly believe dessert should taste as good as it look. Cakes are more than dessert. They are also part of the decor. They should still be delicious!

For me, it’s a personal business. I realize you are trusting me with a huge part of your very special day.

When designing, I consider not only a couples personalities, wedding colors and theme, but also the venue. I account for the height of the ceilings, the carpets and drapes and anything else which will compliment or distract from a design.

Together, we create a delicious element of decor just for you.
