It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working. I made this dress which is a reprint of a 1950s simplicity pattern complete with a waist stay (see last pic). However, the dress looks better on Marie Antoinette (the dress form) than me as I have gotten back into running and the dress is now a size too big as I took the measurements for the dress in the spring.

It’s summer and I have gotten started on a long list of things I want to make. This was the first. Discount fabric at $1.88/yd brought this dress to less than $15, even though I messed up on the top and had to recut and sew it again. Nice cool cotton fabric, perfect for summer!

It’s been a while, but I’ve been busy nonetheless. This box was originally filled to the brim with neckties that belonged to the father of a client. She asked me to make something out of them. There are now a total of 8 pillows. It was a learning process for sure!
