After deep reflection, heartfelt prayer, and careful consideration, I have decided it is time to bid farewell (for now) to Ella Claire & Co. Over the past five years, I have poured my heart and soul into this business, so reaching this conclusion has not been easy. Retail and e-commerce are challenging, with long hours and endless planning. However, the journey has been both rewarding and fulfilling. Like any business, it has had its ups and downs, but every challenge was worth it, and I would do it all again!

First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to my loyal customers. Without your support, I would not have come this far! I am also truly thankful for the connections I have made along the way. These relationships and more have made the sacrifice entirely worthwhile.

An exciting opportunity presented itself just as I was preparing to close this chapter. I am thrilled to announce that I am pursuing another passion of mine: real estate! I have joined Wilson Real Estate, and I’m ready to embrace a new year with a new chapter in my career! Cheers to 2025!

Dear all,

I apologize for the delay in updating you on the status of Ella Claire & Co. I have struggled with how to express my thoughts and feelings about my business.

Last summer, I decided to skip a season and take a pause to reflect on the future of Ella Claire & Co. During this time, I continued to sell the remaining inventory through the online store. The decision to skip the next season was an easy one to make after the first. Now, here I am, nearly a year later, still trying to decide the next steps.

Recently, another local business shared its struggles with running a small business with their online community. I commend them for opening up and being so vulnerable; it gave me some courage to do so myself. Although my heart is still 100% in the business, owning a small business has been more exhausting than ever imagined. After starting Ella Claire & Co. nearly five years ago, the pause was necessary for me to regain my energy. It has been a time of contemplation, prayer, and, unfortunately, doubt.

I have fought through many seasons to grow the business and even considered hiring someone to help. However, as a home-based business, this presented some challenges. So, instead, the decision to take a step back in an attempt to find clarity felt like the best option.

I am not quite ready to give up on Ella Claire & Co. I worked incredibly hard to make this little dream of mine a reality. I will continue to sell the remaining inventory and take another season off before making a final decision.

To all my loyal customers, I would like to thank you for your support thus far. I hope to continue fulfilling your children’s clothing needs shortly. I will keep you posted, and I appreciate your patience while I work on the future of my business. Meanwhile, the website is still up and running, and everything is discounted!

I encourage you to PLEASE support your local small businesses. They play a vital role in promoting the unity, growth, and prosperity of a community. Without them, a community is unable to thrive. And without you, they are unable to keep their doors open.

We are having a Sitewide Fall Sale, and our ENTIRE website is currently discounted, including savings up to 70%!

We will not be restocking new inventory for Layette through 6X while I take a break to catch up. However, we will have some new Tween styles coming next month! We plan to restock new styles for Layette through littles sometime next year.

Thank you to our AMAZING customers for supporting us over the past four years! As we approached our anniversary this month, I knew it was time to pause, even if it is for a moment.
