Everyday I try to be a better person that I was the day before. There are some areas in life where I just feel like I could know more. Black history is one of those areas. I was not taught a variety of black history growing up in school. What I do know that was not provided in books I learned on my own...anyone else feel like this?

This is a good read for someone just starting learn some black history.

There is so much more history to celebrate than can fit in one month's time. Join us as we honor the African American men and women who made history.

There are so many things in "American history" that need to be re-thought, re-taught. Example, do you realize many of American statues, school names, street names all were put in place by systems and people who were closed minded to real history that includes everyone. Its time to wake up and do something about it now. Write letters to governors, start petitions, make your voice heard because people ARE listening now.
