Four years ago today—July 30, 2022—I woke up as a full-time entrepreneur. 👏🏾
My Lord, what a ride it’s been.
I almost missed this milestone and because I didn’t, I’m doing something I rarely do: pause to celebrate myself.
Over the past four years, I have:
✅Secured dozens of contracts
✅Coached and developed executive leaders across corporate, nonprofit, government, and education sectors
✅Curated and facilitated dynamic workshops and delivered speaking engagements
✅Authored a book, Radical Belief: A 40-Day Devotional
✅Launched and grown an amazing product line
✅Begun building my intellectual property portfolio
✅Created my own proprietary assessment
✅Became a Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women Alumn
✅Launched a half dozen communities—and two of them actually did very well 😂
✅Launched over a dozen initiatives
✅Built a business and brand rooted in purpose, relationships, and meaningful work
✅Kept going through grief, caregiving, uncertainty, and more than a few moments when quitting would have been easier
And there is still so much more I could name.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
Entrepreneurship is no joke. Like, seriously.
I am definitely NOT built to do just one thing. I finally—finally—accept that.
There is real reciprocity in this space. People will ride hard for you when you have consistently ridden hard for them.
Not everything works, but nothing is wasted. Every contract, idea, launch, mistake, and detour has taught me something.
And, I’ve got about three more years of this before I’m out. 😂 I still have a few things I would like to accomplish first.
Thank you to every single person who has hired me, referred me, encouraged me, prayed for me, purchased from me, partnered with me, or supported me along the way. ❤️
Attached are a few throwback highlights.
Four years down.
My legacy is loading 🙌🏾 Let’s go!
