In February I visited Washington D.C. for Rare Disease Week with EveryLife Foundation for Rare Diseases, advocating for the 1 in 10 Americans living with a rare disease. One of the biggest priorities we brought to Congressional offices is the Credit for Caring Act (S.925/H.R.2036).
Family caregivers are the backbone of our community, but they often carry immense financial and emotional weight spending thousands out-of-pocket every year to keep their loved ones safe and supported at home. This act would provide a federal tax credit of up to $5,000 to help offset those costs.
The best news? Our voices are being heard. Since Rare Disease Week, 8 new Representatives have signed on as cosponsors! 🙌

Bella’s perfect one-day Miami itinerary 🌴

If you only have one day in Miami for spring break, this is the plan:

Start your morning with breakfast at Café Versailles — the most iconic spot for authentic Cuban food. It’s the perfect way to kick off the day.

Then head to the Frost Museum of Science. It’s actually so fun — aquarium, rooftop views, and cool exhibits all in one place.

After that, stop by Merrick Park Mall for some outdoor shopping and a relaxed walk.

Next, visit the Museum of Ice Cream — super colorful, fun, and perfect for photos.

End the day in Coconut Grove — one of my favorite areas for dinner, walking around, and just enjoying the vibe at night.

❄️♿ Winter at Notre Dame has been beautiful and challenging. Scooters get stuck and quick fixes don’t always work. Sharing this because accessibility has to work in real life and not just in theory.

We recently visited and wanted to share what the experience was like as a wheelchair user.

Before going, we registered through the IBCCES app to receive an accessibility pass. The process allows guests with disabilities to submit documentation in advance so the park can provide appropriate accommodations. Having everything approved ahead of time made the visit smoother and less stressful.

Theme parks can be exciting but also overwhelming when navigating mobility needs. Planning ahead and understanding the accessibility system really helps set expectations and avoid confusion once you arrive.

If you’re planning a visit and have mobility needs, I definitely recommend researching the process beforehand.
